The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

about 20 hours in and loving it, for me its really showing up Fallout 4 shortcomings! A few q's though...

Im still just eating bits of food to regen. These only give 4 or 5 seconds of regen which doesnt seem a lot, should i be using something better or cooking things somehow by now?

Im noticing that the quest levels arent that accurate, just done the Griffin armour quest which is level 11 and i'm 6 and didnt really break a sweat. Whats the upper limit on quest levels that people have done compared to their level at the time?

Having never played the other games, how do they compare with W3? Ive a feeling i will do them in reverse order once ive spent half a year on this one :)

The Swallow potion is better for regen than food, its can be upgraded to be better too

Swallow is op, you get free everytime you meditate. if you have achhol.

Quests depends on Difficulty. Higher difficulties even the same level quest is hard. but on lower say Medium ive done lvl 21 quest at 10. It depends on your approach & remember to read the bestiary.

Witcher 1 i was not a fan off due to it was a little isometric. & combat was pretty poor

witcher 2 was great, but not really open world (just a few side quests), Combat was pretty similar

Witcher 3 is the best game EVER made period.

What i want is. Dev to make a prologue with Ciri's full history. Then to recreate W1 & W2 in the Witcher 3 World with Few Art changes to make sense. eg Termeria etc

Just finished the Expansion, didnt real like it at all.

Because i completed all the ? before hand It was literally Quest after Quest & some of the HOS quests took me a good 30mins to a hour each.. for very little point.

it was good had qaulity but not the fun stuff of Witcher 3.

I've just finished HoS with the good ending today. Not all that impressed by HoS either really, doesn't feel like it's added much to the base game.

Got one or two treasure hunt quests still to do but it all feels a bit pointless when I'm running around in full viper gear + the iris sabre. The only thing i think i can improve upon is the runes, but what's the point when there's no monsters to kill :(

New game plus deathmarch has more diagrams that are better eg Legendary!
The run that turns your next sword hit to match your sign is epic!

I'm finding it really hard to get into this game. Looked at a guide to get me up and running and it says there should be loads of quests in white orchard to get my level up a bit, yet I have only found a handful after running around for hours.

I think I maybe should have played the other 2 games first as there is too much to learn all at once. I'm looting hundreds of items I have no clue what they even are or if they are worth taking.

Also not keen on the villagers constantly saying the same things over and over. Its a bit immersion breaking, wish there was a mod to remove it, or tone it down a bit.

Loot is pointless in this game, apart from to sell. You never need it like ever, even if the game pretends you do. The only things worth picking up are food and drink for healing.

You get quests by reading boards, or doing the main story. I don't see how you have only got a handful as there are tons of them in the opening section and you easily stumble upon them by just doing the main line.

Never had your last problem, sounds like your stalling in an area for too long.

If you have killed the griffin you should be moving onto the next zone.

I haven't yet, the suggested level for that quest is I think lv4 and I have just reached lv2 after exhausting all the quests I could find. I looked on the notice board and got a couple of quests from that and also ran into an old woman that lost a pan... But other than that i cant seem to find all these quests to boost my level.

Maybe I should just ignore the suggested level and crack on with the story quests?

Regarding the repeated dialogue, maybe I am staying around white orchard too much, but it does seem like people just repeat the same line all the time. I run through the village and like 3 different women tell me they don't like me in the exact same voice and everyone else makes weird spitting noises. I'd rather they just didn't speak at all if they have nothing nice to say :p.

Run along the shore lines, dive into the water, find hidden chests, walk through the woods, some ways to find small quest lines around White Orchid. Not telling you which they are but you have 7 Treasure Hunts quests if you not found them all already. Also, you found all the Places of power in that area, those mostly guarded by foes that give you experience fighting them. Plus, those are good find anyway since give you extra points to increase your fighting abilities. :p

Thanks, I'll have another play later on. I did find a stone in the woods guarded by a wraith that was fairly easy to defeat. Think I just need to spend a few more hours with it to try and get into it.

If you only found one Place of power so far I'll give you a small spoiler but incase you don't want to know, putting it in spoiler tags.
There is an additional 5 to be found in White Orchard.

So i've set a challenge for myself. Its not a perfect challenge. But as you know my first playthrough maingame + HOS took me 225 hours. without reading the notes!

New Challenge:
Death March Mode + NG Plus
No UI at all ever.
Find places only by using Big map & using my noodle
Witcher Senses allowed (for obvious reasons cant do some quests without it)
Read all Books & notes (going to be hardest tbh)
Ride everywhere. or Boat
Finish everything again, But ofc not possible depending on below
Choose every choice differently.

Current moded game looks pretty good went for medievil look instead of vanilla below is 1440P ultra + grass mod + lod mod
