Do you have specific examples ?

I know there are armour/skins you can buy that give small XP buffs but nothing game breaking. The only problem I foresee are them introducing P2W items in the future.

The game is fun but it should be called Black Desert Grindfest, so I can see why people would buy items to help them through this aspect.

Is p2w just a generic term now for a cash shop?

There is nothing p2w in the store, nothing that will give you an advantage over anyone else. You can get increased bag space, weight which can be unlocked in game. Weight not particularly a big deal. Increased xp for killing stuff, these you can get regularly in game anyway.

Nothing in there is p2w.

That said some of the prices are terrible but non are required in game to be succesful or have fun.
 
It's not p2w. There are a tiny benefit from the stats which make little difference. You can achieve the same effects with food and crafting.

Now if you had said 'pay to look good'......

It's such a good game though and the dull armour/costume cash prices are my ONLY gripe about it so far (20 hours play up to lvl 17). I love seeing visual progression in gear so was sad to see it, but everything else is just awesome. It is a grindfest, but then so is Diablo 3 and that game is loads of fun, some people like grindy games :D.
 
I love seeing your armor degrade when it loses durability. So cool and the grind for me in fine.

I'll be aiming for awakened weapons and that is meant to take a long time.

From what i heard only 2 people on KR are level 62.
 
Purchased the explorers pack i take it there will be a date where we can pre-load.

Also be prepared for a lot of questions as this will be my first real go at a MMO
 
Being as a fellow Stokie, feel free ask any questions as it is a very daunting game and no hand holding at all.

Joining a good guild is always advisable and will be finding one this week.
 
I've used the CBT2 to get used to some of the mechanics so I can hit the road running week after next, or next week if you count Sunday as the first day of the week.

Whilst it's not in EVE Online s league for complexity it's a refreshing change from most, if not all, of the MMO's of recent years.
 
I am torn between starting classes. Spent a few hours today trying them out. And 'mained' a Wizard in this CBT. Think my choices are between Warrior and Wizard. Problem is, I am ALWAYS a mage type class first then second is a Sword and Board. I am half tempted to just choose the most obscure class to my choices but don't know which lol.

Am defo' up for grouping up should I be on the same server as you guys. Have promised RL mates I will go same as them so here's to hoping it's the same :D
