Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Just got back, Enjoyed it for the most part but some parts really let it down for me.

It's worth a watch sure but it's not going to blow you away sadly :(

just seen it - it was ok, i enjoyed it for what it was but snyder has learned nothing from man of steel.
6/10 at best

i really liked wonder woman though.

Brain says it's a 7/10 movie, heart says 9/10, so i'll settle for an 8. Might go back for another watch.

What was crazy is I think MOS is garbage but the opening 10 minutes of this had me wanting to go back and watch it again.

3/10, did not enjoy it at all.

I may be reading too much into the film but there seemed to be a lot of what Zack Snyder would call homages, but I'd called lazy film making, to other films/literature. A Clockwork Orange, Gladiator and Moby Dick to name the 3 I can remember but I just did not enjoy it.

As much as I like Jesse Eisenberg I did not like his Lex Luthor. I'm sorry but it seemed like a rehash of Heath Ledgers Joker.

One plus point though, I didn't think i would but I liked Ben Affleck as Batman and in the right film I think he'd be great.

Just back...

I thought it was alright. I laughed a lot but i'm strange. I Loved "Chunky Batman" Looks like he was out on a stag do!
Friend who is into comic books was outraged and began ranting how it was all wrong etc.
Made me laugh even more.
Wonder Woman looks like complete dross.
So much of it literally makes no sense.... But that again made me laugh even more!

I've seen the latest Fantastic Four though and nothing can be as awful as that.

I liked Bat Affleck ! Was it really 2h 30m long !? wow... Lois Lane is so dumb i wonder how she dresses her self in the morning for work.

I like the Music Hans Zimmer i presume ?

Just came back from watching this and I'm a big DC fan (Marvel too!)

Solid 9/10 for me.

Action sequences were amazing and BA IS my favourite Batman now, he portrayed him far closer to the comics than the others did.

Yes, it did take a while to get to the action as they tried to cram so much in to the film to get ready for Justice League and I can forgive them for that.

I've still got a grin on my face :D

Oh gawd I forgot about the music - just so loud all the time, we get the idea some action is going to happen, lay in on less thick...

Stuff I hated:

  • Unlabelled dream sequences
  • Retarded ease that Lex Luthor had access to Zod and the ship
  • I dont see how Superman would be motivated to fight Batman when all he wants to do is to warn him that Lex is trying to kill his mother and wants his help, even in the state Batman is in. Hell why would Superman jeopardise the world over his mother in the first place?!?
  • Lois Lane just seems completely pointless in existing other than to be a huge neon signed weakness for Superman
  • Plot with the Senator was completely unexplored, the film seem to use it just to declare Lex the villain and then throw it away
  • Found how they drop Gad Gadot into scenes and then her eventual reveal as WW in the final fight was amateurish. I still dont think the movie would be any worse if WW wasnt in it.
I dont expect much from Zack Snyder, but BvS was pretty poor by his lowish standards - have zero faith in where the DCCU is going, though throw loads of millions at marketing each film and I guess theyll make a profit just with a set of pretty embarrassing films. Its like MCU just doesnt exist...

6/10 for me, seen it earlier today.

It is just so sloooow, some pacing issues.

I also think the trailer spoiled it a little. I felt like I knew everything when watching it.

Just got back from this as well. I would give it 7.5/10.

Bit of a batman fan, I absolutely loved Ben Affleck's Batman, and how utterly brutal he was. I would love to see him in a solo film.

I would love them to explore the 'jokes on you batman' robin suit you get to see in the batcave.

I can't really rate it any higher because of stupid CGI monsters and the way it felt like wonder woman was just thrown in casually.
Still not sure how I feel about Lex Luther either.

he has signed on to do 3 solo films

Im hoping for a death in the family / under the red hood style storyline to fit the robin suit

I thought Man of Steel was complete and utter crap and I don't like Ben Affleck, but for all that ended up enjoying this. It wasn't perfect -
it would have been better if it wasn't used as a vehicle to introduce other characters
- but I was invested from start to finish and the time flew by. Much better than I thought it would be.

The film may not have silenced the critics but Ben's performance in this has been well received by Batman fans.

I thought he made the perfect and by far the best to-date comic super hero universe Batman (esp compared to Bale's everyone's a normal human context)

Overall the film was a solid 10/10 for me but then I don't nerd rage.

I personally thought it was pretty good as a whole. Granted there was a lot of dubious decisions but I think it wasn't nearly as bad as most have made out. I still thoroughly enjoyed it but I think it is DC/WB just trying rush things too much and we are back to "let's catch up to marvel" train again. Definitely trying to do too much and cram too many Batman/Superman arcs into it. Instead of concentrating on just one story.

Think they missed a trick imho using (warning movie spoilers)

DD too early and the DoSM

I was really impressed by Ben and his portrayal as the Cape Crusader. Personally thought he probably the closet thing to the source material to date, which stole the show imo. WW for me looked physically good and what little scenes she kind of "passed" must see more of her before I am truly convinced.

Solid 8/10. Would definitely watch it again. I think most people's biggest mistake is walking into this film with too much expectation. This is normal. The more content, the more people expect. Go into this movie with a open mind and you will enjoy it more.

Nexus mate waiting for your review ;)

Stuff I hated:

  • How Bruce Wayne still becomes Batman when only his mother died when he was a child - I just cant suspend my disbelief that having his father around wouldnt have changed that fate.

Did I miss something but didn't

Warning movie Spoilers
Bruces parents both died. His Dad didn't survive did he.??

One thing that sort of has killed this for me, is that i heard a radio advert for it the other day which had a bit of dialogue from Lex (Jesse Eisenberg) and i immediately thought "what the hell is Blu from Rio doing in this film......oh" :p

Sounds like he is voicing it in basically the exact same manner!

I still want to go and see it though.

Reviews are panning this. One I read started with: "Like a big, wet glob of fetid bird droppings tumbling down from the sky, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has landed with an audible splat."

To be honest, it's a stupid concept. Why would superman be fighting batman? And Ben Afleck as batman is a big no-no.

His dad died as part of the end of MOS and not like his mother when he was a child. He was the old bloke Bruce was calling at the start in what I assume was Wayne Tower when he was driving his blinging Jeep
