I decided I just couldn't get on with Monza, so not bothered racing, that vid of T1 is amusing though, for all the wrong reasons :p

I think like Spunkey said, it's mostly "nomad tards", even at PI someone came on and asked what fuel was required (easily found on the forums) and that it was his first race in the car, sure enough he was a liability in the race.

Looking forward to Road Atlanta, love the track although not had the most success racing there, from the forums apparently it's a medium-high downforce setup for the best times, on low downforce sounds like you lose too much in the twisty stuff to ever make it up. Certainly that'll be what I'm going for, so far my favourite week was Zandvoort cause you had the downforce to 'lean on' a lot more.

I've just done a week of Skippy at Road Atlana, so might give the FR a spin. Especially as next weeks Skippy is Miami Homstead, which would mean buying the track if I want to race.

Miami's a good roval, at least in the GT3's it made for some good racing. That was with road course B which includes turn 3&4 of the oval. I imagine course A would be better in the skips given their lack of power but I see you're not racing that config :p

Edit: Having just looked at a lap the turns that were right on the edge in the GT3 cars, T1 and T7 are easy flat in the Skip. Probably makes this one something of a draft fest.

Video of my son driving in Pcars on the rig. It gives you a idea of the speed on the outside 2 monitors.

It also looks like they are at an angle, but when you're sitting down it is all level..

That FOV looks way out? Having driven cars (albeit just a fiesta) on tracks it doesn't go past that fast!

Anyone seen me in the skippies? (Adam Webb2). I cant be fast, and consistent. Damn annoying. Won a race at Brands last week, followed the guy for a few laps then dummied him at paddock hill so i could overtake into druids. Then pulled 3 seconds a lap which was odd, consistent lap times each lap. Well chuffed. But that's put me into top split range and now i'm running around mid to last, even though i'm really liking Atlanta.

Win No4 at Monza for me this week, having an absolute blast at this track, I'm about the only one sorry to see it change :).

Second top split, my times were comparable with the bottom of the top ten guys in top split. Maybe it's the rig that's helped me, certainly feel more confident on the brakes now, knowing my office chair isn't going to roll back.

Nice one Marker.

I was having a great week in GT1 at Bathurst, won all 3 races I'd done and was in two minds whether to do the 10pm race or go to bed. Flipped a coin and went for it... shouldn't have. Grazed the wall at McPhillamy Park while leading with 5 laps to go and got a meatball. The car was driving absolutely fine, no damage whatsoever it seemed. Typical iRacing damage model. Had to pit as there was too many laps left to ride it out. I was expecting a few seconds of optional...but no, 8 mins of repairs! WTF?

-65 iR for a 4th place finish sucks balls.

Did some practice laps at Atlanta last night, wow it has a lot of blind corners. I am going to race there tomorrow as I'm confident that I'm not going to fall of the track all the time but not confident in my pace at all.

What an absolute disaster, I knew I wasn't ready for Atlanta but I raced anyway. Half way gone I was in 4th place with one incident point but after I had made one mistake I kept making one after another and I ended up finishing 13th with 12 incident points! On the plus side because everyone had a lot better Irating than me I only lost 3 points.

Unlucky mate.

Turns out I do have Atlanta, spent so much money Iin Iracing I don't know what I have lol..

Anyway, borrowed a setup from the forums and ran the same temp as 7:45 race. Turns out I am only a second down on the average times for top split guys. My best time is a 19.6 with the optimal being a 19.2. Race times were 18.6 odds. I'm really chuffed with that pace for myself.

Now, corner 3/4, the blind right hander, is there a bump just as you rise the crest and brake? Twice I have braked and just spun to the left into the wall. Is there a specific technique for that part, the rest of the track is techniclly quite simple, easy apexes apart from the blind right hander before the long straight, brakinf point is hard to find on that one.

My qualifying lap was a 19.6 so I know I've got reasonable pace but it's just not enough practice. I was also in the 7.45 race, which split were you in?

I did 30 laps of practice earlier.

Fastest time in the session was an 18.3, my best was a 19.2 with an 18.9 optimal.

I'm actually struggling with turn 2 at the top of the hill, I either carry too much speed and run too wide or brake too much and loose all the time I gain through turn 1 and going up the hill.

It's always been the same at Atlanta for me.

First race ever at Atlanta, didn't qualify so started 2nd last as another wise person decided to do the same.

I took it kinda easy the first two laps, just keeping up with the guy in front, not pressurising him at all.

By the 5th lap I was up to 17th, by lap 12 I was 11th and stayed there until the end with no Inc points. Tell you what though, still some idiots racing here this week, plenty of offs and coming straight back onto the track in front of people to try and hold their place.

About 1.5secs off of Lando Norris who won, but I am sure I can complete in the top ten, won't win many just now, but I will get a good race.
