The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

What app/software is that you are using? I'm looking into Crunchyroll as a newbie to all this - mainly to try and improve my Japanese not because I'm into anime per se. :p

Looks like Plex to me

Personally for improving Japanese I prefer live action or variety programs (the latter having a lot of on screen text which can help)

Aye looks like Plex.

Amazon Prime and Netflix both seem to have a reasonable amount of anime on them if you've got a sub for them :) (Kabanari of the Iron Fortress looks very good so far).

Yeah its Plex https://plex.tv/

I have a server sitting downstairs running the server side software, get all my anime rip them and just watch them at my convenience whether its in the office at work or in my office upstairs on even on my TV, I have a Samsung 8 series comes with the Plex app, i do also have crunchy roll, but i struggle keeping up with subs some anime's are ok others are difficult.

Ergo Proxy subb'd is insane to keep up with, so i got the dub to watch, but then again i watched Psyco-Pass 1/2 subb'd and they were fine, Durarara was a bit too much subb'd so stopped half way through and obtained the dub.

Plastic Memories was another one i watched couple of weeks back subb'd and theres a lot of dialogue which is very erm deep, i think a dub would do it justice. DBS is one i will wait for in a dub as theres a lot of dialogue. Steins Gate i never would kept up with if i had watched it subb'd or Chaos Head which is complete mess even dubb'd

I know crunchyroll has Jdrama stuff but what about variety programmes? Where are you able to watch those (with english subtitles)? Sorry for going OT a bit.

Unless I am missing something prime only has Kabanari unless you want to watch Pokemon episodes from 5 years ago or avatar/spinoffs?

Can't comment here ... but I will say that if you follow popular Japanese music groups then they will have their own shows, and appear on others, and there are communities which sub some of them ... but they tend to be quite simple in a lot of cases so you don't really need subtitles to know what's going on. An example of the music groups would be the '48/'46 groups where one of the main discussion forums is at stage48.net (no downloads available on that site)

My thoughts exactly ...

I've started watching Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World on CrunchyRoll tonight. So far I've only seen ep, 1A and it sounds interesting.

EDIT: so I'm almost caught up to the latest episode. This Anime is awesome! When you first watch, you get a good feeling off ERASED (which also is excellent). Definitely worth giving a go.

Just finished Aldnoah:Zero, really enjoyed it. Looking for my next watch, tried fullmetal alchemist but couldn't get on with it.

also complete watching season 1 & 2 of seraph of the end

I finally managed to get round to watcing Sword Art Online Season 1 the other day, which was very good :)
I'm going to try and watch the second season some time soon.

In case anyone is interested Zavvi are doing the LE of elfen lied on Blu-ray for £18, and various other offers at the moment :)

Been binge watching Ajin on Netflix. Freaking awesome! It has some really cool ideas and clever writing. Also, the animation is superb, it seems like they filmed people doing the actions then drew over them, that's how lifelike they are.

Finished watching No Game no Life, i give it a 6/10, story is great, but it think i could have been executed so much better.

Now i've started Tokyo Ghoul √A

Watched the latest Girls Und Panzer movie the other day
Much better than the Anzio one imho
About 2 hours long, lots of new characters (maybe from the manga/books??)
And one irritating team that seemed to only know how to charge forward and get destroyed EVERY time :(
