** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

Lol, that is so bad, comparing to a reference 290x, using the known to be broken doom drivers for AMD cards. Saying it was running around 60 in a gaming run and then on the next slide saying it was hitting 80.

Think I'll probably settle on a used GTX 980 Ti when I need to buy a card in mid June, which should continue to lower in price a bit over the next month.

The pricing as these new cards come out isn't really acceptable for me. Seems like it's only a sensible buy for enthusiasts who have the money and don't care about price : performance. The prices for this new gen just seem far too off for me to justify getting a 1080 over a used 980 Ti.

Well, personally having just as much sense as I have money, I will be voting with my wallet and not buying a gtx 1080 for £620 :p

And if there are enough like-minded individuals, watch the price come tumbling down.

If enough people boycott this product, watch nvidia panic and the price will be £500 before you even know it.

1080 is only $49 more MSRP than the 980ti was, I think. Coupled with exchange rates and UK taxes.

Bit more than I personally want to spend on a GPU at the moment but the whiners comments seem entirely wrong?

You can't compare the 1080 to the 980Ti... it's a mid-range card and its position in the line-up (with the 1080Ti virtually inevitable) is more comparable with the 980, which could be had for £400 (Reference) just after launch. When you see it in those terms, £620 is just nuts. Not that I am surprised, it's the way of the world these days, and just watch the fervent willingness of the thousands who will pay it and thank Nvidia for the opportunity. I've said it before, but if Nvidia were asking £1K for this card it would be no different. Fools and their money are easily parted... :(

Are you high?

These will be sold out, expect price gouging and short supply.

Another nail hit squarely on the head :)

I've done worse!

I was daft to spend 800 quid on an X34

I have wasted hundreds of pounds over the years on tech...

I have been one of the most silliest people I know...

Your point?

I was just answering you.. I have done the same really many times over with technology.. but have got a bit wiser over the years on when to upgrade and not panic sell because the kids on forums are trying to get you to sell your goods to them at cheap prices.. Also remember there are many on the MM/forums to sell stuff on with many account names or have friends that help them along there to make sellers drop their prices more and more.. There is a few on the MM I spotted doing such things, trying to get prices reduced on items people are selling..

Like I said before the vultures... it's funny how so many of them have gone quiet on these threads now... the ones screaming the 980ti will be £200 soon etc etc... They tried to justify what they said when the reviews came out too for a while but realised people are not that stupid and will not fall for it now they see the reviews..

Well the AIB 980 cards were around ~£500 when they released, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with the AIB 1080 cards, since they're supposedly meant to be significantly cheaper than the Founders edition (yeah, right..)
