No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

It makes it even more laughable that the guy who got the first copy is going to 'review' it. By all accounts he comes across as a complete loser. Going by the Reddit threads it sounds as if the copy was stolen and isn't even a final copy.
Bet some folks would love to know where that "copy" came from?!

Yep, I think reddit will get interesting when the US wake up to this.

One thing that's got me wondering, with everything being procedurally generated how can there be spoilers out on the internet, or are the spoilers about things like specific game mechanics? If not then are races like the 'Korvacks' (sp?) that are on promo vids going to be galaxy wide? as starting at random places, say the other side of the galaxy from the promo vids would mean that you have little chance in meeting them.

I have wondered why they keep saying you are very unlikely to ever see another player but if everyone goes to the centre of the galaxy, surely everyone will end up around the same supermassive black hole?

It's not multiplayer, you are there alone and stuff like planets and fauna are driven from a database that's collected from other players

Game mechanics, races, ships, equipment, storyline, rare locations etc.

Still not sure about this game. Like ED it looks interesting, but I bet after a while it will all get very samey no matter where you go. So far most of the planets look the same, just different colour combinations.

I wonder how far you can burrow down into the crust of planets, I could happily spend a whole day just on one exploring and mining.

I could swear blind I heard that it is possible to bump into others, just very unlikely.

I would bet good money it's smoke and mirrors. What game do you know of that tracks hundreds of thousands of players in the same instance? Even Eve crawls to a halt in modest fleet battles, and that's heavily instanced.

"Multiplayer" elements are said to be planned (according to an FAQ I read on Reddit)

I understand that the scale of the game is huge and I will probably massively enjoy this anyway, but it does seem like a huge missed opportunity to not add at least 2-4 person co-op into a game like this. It could be my game of the year if it had that.

That was never in the plan though from what I know, though it would be a shame to not have any chance whatsoever to bump into someone.

I've got the exact same feeling as this, ED is an amazing achievement (especially now with landing on 'planets') but for me it's game play was just missing something to actually keep me going.

I'll definitely be waiting for the reviews on this one.
