I don't even think we will see one...

I think with vega we may get a pascal refresh and the 1180 series lol

I can't see them going to 11** series already? waaaay later in the year for that imo.

Too early for nVidia to announce 11xx series lol. They need to improve the 10xx series to re badge with better fabrication. That costs money and they need to make significant sales with 10xx series before jumping on next series. Not to mention all those who upgraded to 10xx series will be peed that 10xx was just around the corner.

not "peed" at all. technology moves fast, the secret is to buy something which does the job well and can keep doing it for a while. That's all that matters.

Yea we all know tech moves fast just like Titan x and then the release of the 980Ti which ended up being faster. Can remember quite a few selling the Titan x to pick up a 980Ti. If that was me id have a sour taste in my mouth.

But even then that's not the same from moving from one series to the next in less than a year. That's more than fast that's just throwing money away from a business point of view. Even if the 10xx was rebadged it needs to be improved. This costs money to do and as soon as they do this and announce 11xx series sales of the 10xx series will suffer. Not good marketing. 11xx wont be out this year or at very earliest end of the year. Q4

Thought rumours were the refreshed pascal with fasters clocks was going to be the 11 series? What else do you call them? the 1080a?

My 80%+ Kingpin 980 Ti's are not faster than my Maxwell Titans and I also prefer the Titans for gaming.

The comical bit is an 80%+ Kingpin 980 Ti is more expensive than a Maxwell Titan too.

You can see deals for 1080 all over the place.ocuk,forest,scam.
Something is coming.
It is ether ti coming or vega is .
Let's hope,for both of them.
and have some decent price fights

I think the new price for 1080 will be £549 give and take and a 1080 ti £749 if it arrives...

We could be seeing 1080 drops though cause of Vega...

I specced up a new system build at the weekend, but now seems like a really bad time to buy an expensive 1080.. I feel like I should leave it a couple of weeks incase these release rumours are true/1080 prices come down.

Ryzen
Vega

Interesting times fingers crossed...

Been on here 4 years and only have half the posts to get onto MM as 1000 posts in my opinion is a stupid amount. I am not sure why they decided such a high number was needed. People posting 200-300 times are already pretty committed members of the community.
Most people with access seem to prefer the entry requirements to be 1000 posts. You can rack up 2-300 posts in a few days really if you really wanted to.

Most people don't live on their computers to be fair and 1000 post is gonna take ages for me too.
With all the sales of the 1080's something is definatley coming. Too early for 11xx series so its Defoe going to be pascal based. Lets just hope its not a 2 chipped titan X pascal lol hahahaha

While I don't think we'll be seeing 11xx just yet, AMD did this with R9 290 -> R9 390. Same GPU, yes ok 8GB but there were already 8GB 290s.
