**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

On target for delivery in April in sometime.

Thx buddy

On the same order I have a zotac amp extream (My buddy's card) and a strix oc (for my self) but can find any specific dates other than one site that will remain nameless that the zotac will be 14th April and the strix oc on the 20th. Is there any truth in this or is there any possibility you guys will get them sooner because of you good relation ship with these company's?

Ps sorry to be a pain in the ass

i would just do this for a fan curve

40c -20%
60c 60%
70c - 75%

you shouldnt need more

I've got a flat 30% line to 50C then from there it's straight incline to 100% @ 80c.

I've certainly had noisier cards over the years, though my custom window is rather thick and my PC is sort of behind me a bit.

Your saying low clocks make the card faster? Please explain?
He means that they will post clocks of 1560Mhz (as an example) but you will probably get 1950Mhz in real world gaming. I don't bother looking at any of the clocks posted, as I also feel it is pointless and keeping the card cool with a custom cooler is priority for me.

Gibbo, please can you advise if you have had any update on when you will get sock of the MSI GTX 1080Ti Gaming X OC?

As stated numerous times previously all custom cards are April. Zotac, Inno3D, Asus, EVGA will no doubt be the first. We are expecting the likes of MSI last, they are very slow and doing a poor job on shipments of 1080Ti to be honest, but we will hopefully see MSI by end of April.

Yeah Gregster is right.

The problem with setting the base clocks higher is that there are not enough boost steps with 3.0 and do what we get is a higher power draw at idle and more noise. Example: 1080 HOF.

With boost 4.0 I am hoping for more granular boost steps.

The other problem is that with a 100% power limit the card does not have enough headroom to sustain 1950mhz in all games and the power limit may throttle the card well before temp limit. as I have posted previously I suspect that, unless you buy a Tier 1 card, at least one of the GPU phases will be driven by the PCIe slot. as the FTW is not a tier 1 card the power limit may still be limited to 120%, just like the founders.

Ok thank you. Bit of a wait then. :/

Maybe because Nvidia is screwing the partners giving there little time to actually make the dam cards and shipping or some sort of embargo on shipping the cards early maybe so they can cash in....but to hear EVGA will be the first is surprising to say the least.... :)

I hope so. My son is now looking at the Strix OC now that EVGA has posted very low clocks on the FTW3.

They are not that much lower though really are they?

EVGA
Core = 1569 /1683
Memory = 11000

Asus
Core = 1594 / 1708 (OC Mode)
Memory = 11100 (OC Mode)
The gaming clock is the same as the EVGA on the card though which is why poster before thought they were same speeds maybe?

Edit: And as others said, they will all likely boost to the point that power limit is the problem with the highest end coolers being selected so if you are keeping the air cooler and I assume you are because otherwise you would go FE then it is generally which one is quietest whilst at full load/power limit and which one do you like the look of/who has best warranty?

I think he meant that the whole list (Zotac, Inno3D, Asus, EVGA) will be first. Given EVGA have only just confirmed specs, I fear they will not be the first of the first ;)

They are just guessing, as far east shipments are hard to date even when you know when the forwarder is leaving. On this situation the forwarders have not even being booked yet because volume production is not yet activated, so it is just someone putting their finger in the air and picking a random date, middle April is relatively safe bet.

And then it arrives, and you look at the back of the box .......
