*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

I just tried this and no, they wont do it. Can not order it online as you have had sky recently at your address so you need to call. Wife was not prepared to call up so it all fell through (sorry misschief). Oh and I did wait until i was cut off before trying the code. Thankfully sky have reconnected me at 60% off, and are now offering 60% off anything else..... So could get the 2tb sky Q and movies and still only pay £35pm.

I expect if the wife calls and say you have recently separated...... Then they would do it I expect. Just depends if your wife is happy to lie about your relationship status?

How strange - I used Misschief's code doing exactly this. Cancelled my GFs subscription and started a new one in my name a few days later. No need to call or anything.

Real quick question - I feel silly asking it, but me....having one of those days....just cannot get my head around it :)
So last year I threatened to leave Sky and got my £38 package for 50% for 12 months.
So my 3-4-17 bill is showing as £19, however my 3-5-17 bill is currently showing as £38, so I guess the end of my current 50% deal.
With that in mind, if my bill increases back to normal on 3rd May, I'm assuming I can start my negotiations on 3rd April - so I can give my 30 days notice on 3rd of April to end my contract at the end of my current "reduced subscription" period?

I've got no intention of paying more than £20 for the service I currently have, so will just give notice and see if any offers are sent my way. Just want to make sure I'm getting the notice period right, that I can effectively give my 30 days notice at month 11 so that it happens month 12 and I'm not hit with early termination charges etc.

I've just got 60% off on live chat. £35.60 for the full TV package including HD sports with no contract. Broadband and phone also reduced to £14.49. Everything for just over £50! Great deal.

June 10th my Sky offer runs out, £35 p/m goes up to £90! I'm always content paying £35 especially as that gives me multi-room, anything more, no thanks. I will await an offer to come back..

June 4th is when mine stops. £19 suddenly becomes £38.
It'll all be straight forward. I'll do online chat to cancel, I'll then say no to any and all offers made and go through until I'm cancelled.
If I get a 50% - 60% offer during my final 30 days I may take it. If I don't then I move over to Now for the programs I want to watch on Atlantic, Sky1 etc.

Doing my online chat next Monday as that will be the date for my month's notice.

Phoned to cancel my TV only today and only got offered 40% off - if they'd gone to 60% as some got (and maybe even Q) I'd have probably kept it

If you are willing to hold out it will likely increase. Sky know they have 31 days for you to think about it so there is no need for them to jump to 60% knowing a lot will accept the 40% as they won't want to be cut off.

Have you tried logging into my.sky.com ? Have a look and see if you've now got the 50% off. 60% usually comes after termination in 31days (IME at least).

Thanks for the advice. I'll check out my sky account page to take a look :)

To be honest, actually wouldn't be too fussed by it cancelling really. Feel Netflix & Amazon Prime offer much better value for money. If I can get 60% off I'd be tempted to keep it though :)

Edit:

Try going to www.sky.com/reviewmyoptions
My package is due to end on the 18th and I've just had a text come through. The offer for me is 60% off and £50 credit for 12 months on any Sky+ TV package

Thanks for sharing the link. I get the same offer on my account now :)

Would've liked to move to Sky Q but imagine I'll bite for the 60% off and £50 credit :)
