Help me with a new build, no budget

No - that's set up correctly.

The fan will be sucking cool air from the front fans then through the HS and venting the hot air out the rear fan.

Do you have cpuz installed - would be interesting to see the Vcore at idle when and under load. The vid in Core Temp i don't trust but would explain the temps.

No rush to do it now - i would concentrate on getting your drivers installed and other software prepped etc...

Edit: Excuse edits I'm using a crappy Nexus to type as I'm watching a film - well, half watching a film (wife picked it...)

You will have a cable attached within your case which you will need to attach to the usb header on your MB (you may have a couple) to get the front panel USB ports working. (Obviously, have the computer turned off when attaching this. I'm sure you would have but just making sure as it's getting late and that's when mistakes happen).

The Bluetooth ps4 controller - if you've installed drivers - may need a restart and then reconnecting the adapter so that it finds it. Basically, you may have to make Windows work at finding the finding the device.

Your temps are on the warm side as your core voltage is above 1.4v under load. Seems a bit excessive, even with turbo enabled - that would probably power a 4.8Ghz+ clock. But as mentioned before - prime 95 is a synthetic test designed to push the chip to nth degree so the MB will apply a voltage it thinks it needs when set to auto.

But as said don't worry - it will be less with everyday use - including gaming. You could look at lowering it if temps appear to be warm when gaming etc...

ok, is there anything I should change in the bios settings? These are stock settings, not changed a thing

No nothing at the moment - because in everyday use, including gaming, your temps should be significantly lower (i hope) so it will be nothing to worry about.

Really, don't worry about it - when you start playing some intensive games look at your temps then and if they seem off kilter we'll dive into the BIOS then. For now get your system up and running and determine that it's stable with everyday usage with the stock settings.

Just had a though, my old build which will be donated to my brother, minus the 980ti which is going on ebay :)

I bought an extra Fractal Design 140mm Silent Series R2 Case Fan

would it be worth removing that and adding it to this? I have removed one of the hard drive cases, so I guess it can go there, at the front, it might improve it slightly?

More fans are always good as long as they're working with each other but you may not get the temp drops you hope for.

That would give you 2 intakes at the front - with the newly installed front one more in line with the CPU - and one exhaust.

It's a better configuration, especially with the second intake blowing unhindered onto (or nearly onto) the HS - with the unused drive bay removed.

You may only see a 1 - 2 degree difference - especially with your intakes set on minimum - but it shouldn't increase your noise levels and every little helps ( I'm not quoting Tescos i hate them - needed to stress that as i have to shop at the 'parading aisles of loons' sometimes. Love home deliveries...).

EDIT: What are your temps/noise levels like with the fans set at medium and high? Might be worth look for comparison purposes - as you will always have the option of switching them up when gaming.

And again don't get too hung up about your temps - I'm more interested in what they're like when you're gaming. Get some DOOM, BF1 or ARMA under your belt - or similar...

EDIT x 2: More pics of rig please - and what's your verdict of the screen? Very envious and giving me ideas of doing a needless upgrade...

I will test the temps and noise later, just installed watch dogs 2, getting 70-80fps at 3440x1440 with everything whacked upto ultra, including all the extra details, very nice

the screen is awesome, I can tell the difference in games, but hard to tell the difference between 60-100 in everyday use, unless my eyes are going :)

one last thing, in my haste I bought the GTX 1080Ti blower version, is there any point getting the others when they are readily in stock? do they improve performance much?

Depends on which card you meant to get and which card you have?

There would be very little real life performance increase between the 2 cards - not that you would notice as you have nothing to compare it to (yes in bench marking).

And the other card may have run cooler/quieter - but if you've got a working card and pleased with the results and its load noise levels i wouldn't worry about it.

You've probably saved yourself a fair whack of my money, depending on what you meant to order, and you would have to pay a p&p plus a restocking fee if you've damaged packaging etc (assuming you bought from OC).

You've had a seamless build to date - i would be hesitant to needlessly rock the boat.

But if you're unhappy, that's a different matter...

Oh no, not unhappy, I just thought being a 100 quid difference between blower edition and the others, there would be a huge performance

watch dogs 2 whacked upto all settings looks absolutely amazing, I just can't seem to hit 100 fps a second, but I didn't expect too

Glad it all came together so smoothly - and you're pleased with the end result - always a bonus.

Got any pics - like to see the case - plus that epic sized screen.

My phone camera has broke, so I will upload some when new one comes

the screen is nice, I don't even notice the curve

I just want to build another PC now :) any new technology on the horizon? haha

Yes, it's called the Plec Phenomena Series - you buy all top end Ryzen parts combined with a 1080ti and 21:9 screen, assemble components and then be amazed at how quickly the latest technology disappears when left on the doorstep of a given address...

That or watch it blown up by bomb disposal as it would essentially be an unmarked package, seemingly randomly disposed off - would still be amazing, as long as it didn't take out my house after the builders have been. However, blown up before they arrive - I get the work done for free. That would be an amazing technology advancement for a PC - remodelling a house!
