And has windows updated since install?

Ideally, you would have picked important updates only.

I can't remember what I chose now. I don't think it had chance as when I knew it had worked I shut it down. Was a long day yesterday :D
 
It may not have reached that part yet (would be strange) but it was a strange install :)- and if you haven't selected an option, pick critical updates only.
 
Yes, chipset drivers from the motherboard manufacturer and the gfx from nvidia/amd (can't remember what you have now).

Choose custom install for the gfx drivers if you don't want all the crap installed

Will, also double check the board just in case you missed something.

Nope, only the one SYS FAN Header.

Link for a cable adapter that links up to 4 additional (3 pin) fans to one PSU molex.

z77 has native usb3 support and ivybridge compatibility out of the box - you may have to upgrade the z68 (shouldn't be an issue - but you've not exactly had the best luck).

Although, it is revision 2.0 so may have ivybridge support out of the box - would need to check.

Being the Rev 2.0 it has PCIe16 3.0 - unlike the earlier revision which was 2.0.

Ideally you would get a z77 - but if you could snatch that for under £50 it would be a good buy.

Look up the rev 2.0 if you have time and compare specs to your last board - see if your missing anything that you use (USB 3 looks to be native on the rev 2.0)

Well, yes and no.

Cooler and case could both be re-used again in a new build and cost approx £100. Plus, z68 another ~£50.

Ryzen build (MB, CPU, memory) plus above case and HS - approx £560 :)

Only risk is second hand MB.
 
£80 - £120 tops maybe possible if you hook right buyers.

So, still looking at minimum of £350.

Offset the £80 you would need to spend on z77/z68 - then down to £270.

But essentially we've masked the numbers/fiddled the books :)
