Agreed, it’s not the prettiest but given the amount of Lego I have, it’s the best solution without spending multiple £1000’s.

Went to visit me ma at the weekend. Found this bad boy up in the attic.
And inside it, along with most of that inventory was this
about 20% of it missing, but ALL the unique pieces are there. The flags, sails, printed map tile.
Only have 1 of the minifigs, which may be pricey to replace as i think they're unique to this set.
1989, 6274-1, Carribean Clipper / Governors Ship "Sea Hawk" (it has a bunch of different names, no idea why.)
Gonna bricklink the spares tonight, wash what ive got, and get her built.

Is that the huge one that went on the ideas page but never got made offically?

Incredible collection. Envious of your impressive collection but not so with you having the clean all that lot. Even my next to your collection, my modest collection is a pain to keep dust free.

I see your problem with the size of that collection, spray the frames your wall colour and job done, maybe material cover the chipboard? Cover it with baseplates
definitely though needs a few metres of led strip lighting. Small expense to display that awesome collection in all it's glory. Never saw your final AT AT, impressive, most impressive. Will show the son when he gets home from school!

. I am very jealous, i bet its a small fortune in there.It looks like the Anios one? Not sure, but its pretty awesome. I bet once you brick link it all up, its a good few hundred quid. I tried to brick link a UCS Yoda, yeah. £1000 average. It does add up.

I bricklinked all the bricks, buying new where possible, total cost was around £1800.
Dang! And I thought the falcon was expensive!

Love that collection, any more photos of the technics stuff? I think I can see a couple of the technic helicopters there, how were they to build? Not sure why but never really considered any of them.
Phew. £1800 is a lot of money for a Lego, its really impressive though. I do love your collection. Can't help think Lego is now becoming more AFOL and collectors and not the toys it once was... Still, I'm getting my daughter Lego sets for xmas.
I bought a 6274 of Facebay of all places complete and in its original (But tattered) box for £40.
Goes well with my Skulls Eye Schooner.I bet the sets they sell in the £12-100 range far far outstrip the sales from AFOL sets like Helicarriers and death stars. My son has both those sets as well but he asks for nothing other than Lego for presents and £275 as an xmas present is cheaper than an Ipad, console or phone that his friends may ask for
(That's how I tell myself it's ok).The adult market has become a bonus but kids still dominate their sales.
Excuse me for being a noob, but if it was a failed Idea's project, then how did you come by the instructions to build it?
My missus would love one, but I am afraid she will have to make do with the standard one for now.
Shame they no longer produce the motorized version.

Here you go mate.
I’ve got the rescue helicopter and some kind of propeller plane, both with power functions. I really enjoyed building all the Technic models, they’re a lot more fiddly and easier to screw up than regular Lego, it’s more of a challenge.
That said, i’ve promised myself I won’t buy any more Technic as I prefer the final look of regular Lego. I’ve even thought once or twice about selling the Technic stuff as I’m running low on space. Now I’ve got 2 Falcon’s and no where to put the second one I’ll probably have to do more than think.

Long before it was an Idea’s project, I read about the guys work in Blocks magazine, he mentioned in the article he’d rebuilt his AT-AT in LDD so I found him online, emailed him and bought the instructions
