So my 320D has had issues with the Idrive screen/system re-booting.
Took it to a friend today and he read the codes.
It's throwing up a hell of a lot of overvoltage faults, checked the alternator and it's not regulating correctly.
New alternator fitted £420 in vat from a bmw specialist.
He also said that the vibration I can feel through the clutch may be down to a failing bearing in the clutch mechanism.
Car has only completed 54k.
I have the Comprehensive BMW Insured warranty, so it looks like I will be going down the route of claiming.
All but 1 of the services have been carried out by BMW, the last service was carried out by the car supermarket I bought the vehicle from.
I have all the paperwork from that service and all the other information is on the key fob.
Can anyone see any grounds for them possibly rejecting any claim I may submit?
Cheers

Further than that, why are you even bothering to get it diagnosed and faults read if the car is under BMW warranty? Isnt this the entire point of the expense of keeping your car under their warranty, that you just throw it at them when it goes bad?

I took the warranty out at the end of December (prior to me having the I-Drive issues) as I had a 6 month warranty with the company I got the car from and that was when it expired.
I wanted the peace of mind of a warranty and the BMW comprehensive suited my needs.
I am still in the 30 day period before being allowed to submit a claim and I wanted to know if the car was going to be ok to drive.
I work just outside London and the car is required for my commute every 4 days, so that was why he offered to look at the codes for me.
He then told me how much it would cost to replace the alternator if he was to do it.

Driving to Disneyland Paris next week, apparently F series cars (I have an F10) have a flat beam pattern so need no adjusting, can anyone confirm this? All I see is a few forum posts and then being contradicted in other forum posts

Fox, I know you’ve done some road trips in yours :)

I have to adjust my lights (F10 LCI M5) from driving on the left to driving on the right. I seem to be the only F10 car with this option in iDrive....
