Are there any decent battery powered heated gloves that could be used for trail riding?

Gerbing do some, the xr12 are both battery and bike powered but they get expensive when buying the batteries, but they do some battery only powered ones.
When you sell the VFR hit me up, I'll need a decent commuter bike by then. ;)

Will do - I've already started looking at cars :o:rolleyes::D but I want to be nice and settled in my new job before doing anything drastic like selling a bike :D

-2C this morning. Phone says "feels like -8C".

I can confirm it felt like -8C. I thought my hand was going to shatter in to a millions pieces when I tried to swipe in at Security today :D

Started the bike up in the garage, said it was 5°C on the dash 'not too bad' I thought. Rode to the gym as the snow began to fall and the temp dropped to 0°C...

Glad it's only a 6-8 minute ride!

I bought Gerbing heated gloves this year (2nd hand from a forum member :) ) and I don't know how my hands have survived winters before. Apart from my being hard as nails of course :p

I was wearing really thick gloves previously, but the finger-tips would still go after 45 minutes or so in low temps. Discomfort I can take but it can get genuinely painful after a while, at its worst. As well, the thicker the glove, the more difficult it is for throttle and clutch control - important when commuter filtering through London.

I was a little late to the club but now I wouldn't want to be without.

-11C and feels like -25C here. The wind chills you to the bone the second you step outside.

You pansies. I used to deliver pizzas on a moped in temps down to -15. Snow, ice, unsalted roads, it was absolute torture but we got on with it. The tips were amazing.

I don't miss the 1290 SDR this time of year for stating the obvious..

At 25mph? :p

Only on good parts of our journeys. The rest was 10mph average. The amount of times I ended on my arse was ridiculous, I reckon I've still got a shattered arse bone from it. Here in London most roads are salted, in Hoorn they only did the main ones so as soon as we went off in to a neighbourhood we may as well have been riding to the benny hill theme.

Has it been confirmed the rider died? :(
The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old man from Sketty, has life threatening injuries and is being treated at Morriston Hospital for multiple injuries

Given the length of the road closure, it was my initial thoughts that it must be a fatality but thankfully it seems to be positive.

So yesterday I found out that the MT10 has the same/similar crossplane crank engine as the R1, and as mentioned a few times, I have to have an R1 at some point because of that engine and the noise. Also mentioned that I've kinda been looking at naked's recently as i like the look of some of them. Across the board the MT10 seems to get good reviews and of course, sounds lovely.

It's just a shame it's so damn, ******* ugly. :( :( :( It's also a shame they're so new it doesn't look like you can get one for below £7k, whereas CB1000R's, £3k comfortably..
