What film did you watch last night?

killing of a sacred deer - odd movie. I kind of liked it but have no idea how to rate it.
good guys - liked it. not as funny as i would like but still very good 8/10

It's not supposed to be realistic, secret society's of hotels full of assassins, gold coins for payment etc etc.

I think they are great.

Lol you think. And here is me thinking they were documentaries. Guess that explains why Wick isn’t deaf as a post :) The second one especially, was, despite all the action somehow boring! Each to their own but not for me.

Ex Machina - 8/10

People like the lead character blow my mind. Letting ourselves become emotionally attached to robotic humanoids will be the death of us all. Sentient or not, they should never be afforded the same rights as humans. They are not a natural, biological creation.

Good film though.

Have you seen The Lobster? Same team as Deer, equally odd. I like both.
I really thought the Lobster was terrible! I understood what they were trying to do and the message they were trying to put across, but couldn't help but find it so poorly done!

Maybe I was in the wrong mood :)

7/10 Ready Player One

I didn't expect a book conversion but based really loosely on the book would be a better description. I'll watch it again as the references are very nostalgic for me. Especially Adventure :)

A Quiet Place - 8/10

Apart from seeing the film poster, I knew nothing about this. Don't think I had even saw a trailer before watching it which is rare for me and I was pleasantly surprised.

I thought it was very well done given the simple premise. In particular, the use of silence was powerful and helped lend itself to creating a very tense atmosphere more than I thought it would (actually thought it would be a bit of a gimmick!). The 90 minute run time was perhaps a touch too short as it seemed to fly by. The end seemed a bit abrupt, but that also helped it avoid the cliche of telling you everything in a 3hr borefest.

If you want to watch something with the mrs/girlfriend/lover but they're not big horror fans or get scared easily, this is very accessible. If you enjoy horror you'll like it but it's not an all-time classic.

I've already posted how much I liked "A Quiet Place" and someone else has touched on this already...I think anyone who is a parent with younger children especially will find this more harrowing.

There were moments I was almost wringing my hands with tension, my wife was close to tears in other parts. We have a 14 month old child so could really relate to a lot of the more intense moments.

I have two children under 10 years old, and I thought this movie was ****.

London Heist - typical London gangster/crime caper starring Craig Fairbrass and the usual suspects.

Seen one, seen em all. Poor and the twist was ridiculously predictable. 3/10.

Ready Player One - 7/10
Really enjoyed this film, will definitely watch this again

Lots of good references to watch out for, I bet there is a ton I missed out on
