New Star Trek series - 2017

Don't get the reboot rumour....why not just set it in the timeline but with a different ship?

Then you can do cool things with perspective where the ship would have been in an original tng episode.

Its just a rumour for now nothing more... sounds like they have pitched multiple films and tv shows ideas to the studios but nothing is yet concrete.

I do also agree with everyone's comments I would prefer to have a series continue on the real time line trek adventures, would be great if its set in the 25th century on-board a new enterprise.

Continuing on with TNG around 12 years or so after Nemesis would make much more sense. Though i do wonder if they have the money to throw around to get all of the old cast interested. Its ok bringing back Patrick Stewart but i can' see it working as well without most if not all of the old cast.

Would it be the E, or a later version, given the way they seem to thrash through them in the movies..

Well we did get to see what the Enterprise J looked like in the 26th Century

Alternative time line of course...

Can you imagine if they do a 25th Century series, you already have 100's of characters that could reprise their role, throw in time travel, alternative time lines like the existing kelvin line and all the others from mirror universe and throw in section 31 and you pretty much have what most fan wants.

So, we know the "E", given the time between Nemesis and the J from the future they must have had a slowdown on blowing them up :D

I've said it a million times, the Aventine (Vesta Class) is the greatest looking Trek ship:

Bring back Ezri Dax and make me an Aventine show! :D

Making Picard an admiral would be a mistake. I can't remember the exact words but in Generations Kirk told him that he should resist any offers that take him from the chair as there is nothing like being a starship captain.

The only thing that could take him off of the bridge of the Enterprise would be him having a family of his own, given his brother died with the rest of the family, was part of the Generations, Nebula/Ribbon thing...
