Poll: Poll: Will you be buying a 2080Ti/2080/2070?

Which card will you be buying?

If the 2080ti is a 30-40% more powerful than a 1080ti I will buy it

At the moment I have a 1080 that struggles to run games at 120fps in my new Alienware aw3418dw.
A 1080ti would be a 20% increase over my 1080, so the 2080ti should be a of 50-60% increase in performance, I think it would be not that bad at all

You are posting complete rubbish. Any tech guru will take the die apart and see what is what. You have stated many times in the last 24 hours that the real 2080Ti is coming in 6 months, you have speculated complete and utter rubbish and made out you know things when in reality, you have shown what you know by posting NVidia are spreading stuff out on the die to make more room. Geeez lad, give it a rest already.
maybe I am wrong but isn't it in the best interest to make things as compact as possible so more die can fit on a wafer? So spreading things out would be counterproductive

Hoping to find a good deal on a VEGA GPU in next few months. Or maybe AMD might offer something new who knows?

Literally nothing in the Nvidia camp I wanna try atm. These threads are fun to read though. Even devotees to Nvidia have been annoyed this time xD

The AMD software director said on twitter yesterday that we should be excited for the end of the year announcement.... So nobody knows what he means.
New GPU? Ray Tracing drivers? The promised HDMI 2.1 update for all RX cards? Who knows.

He’s referring to the mad comments this guy is making, people are buying it because the chip is big etc etc, it’s not really a Ti. Complete BS basically, anyone who did that would be exposed VERY quickly by technical analysis which you can bet your ass people like AMD will be doing to see what’s under the hood along with many others.

If your idea of justified pricing and performance was followed by Nvidia since the 8800GTX, the GTX1080Ti could be costing £28,000 today, and the RTX2080Ti £39,400
Because inflation adjusted the 8800GTX costs £1000 in today's money and the perf difference is over 2600%. (yes you might think that should be £26000 but we have higher VAT since 2010 by +2.5%)

Please stop justifying this because makes no sense and if Nvidia even started "today" started implementing this, the 21080Ti will cost £2200

Is he announcing 100,000 mentions of AMD in your forum posts regardless of the topic?

40% more performance, 100% more ££££.

Makes sense.

Don't try and bring logic and rational thought into here :p

You're talking to people who are akin to drug addicts looking for their next fix. They'll justify it to themselves by any reason they can come up with, and come hell or high water you won't change their mind. Just try keeping an addict away from their next fix and see how they react.

Oh and then they tell us we aren't buying because apparently we can't afford it . It's got nothing to do with the fact that perhaps we aren't so easily swayed by marketing bull**** and can see the bigger picture.

I mean prices are ridiculous, but so is this hobby, lets say you make 3k a month so dropping 1k+ every few years on a new card is no biggie.

Just because a person has plenty of disposable income doesn't mean they are wasteful with it. It looks like the 1080ti Amp Extreme will be my last card, and that PC gaming is becoming more and more irrelevant. Being a person who enjoys single player games, I have over the last couple of years had far more enjoyment out of my PS4 PRO and XBox One X coupled with my HDR OLED tv and Dolby Atmos set-up. Games like the Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn put PC gaming to shame.

they taking a ****...

QFT!

But it don't work like that

3k per month is very close to what I get but then I pay out 2k+ per month for rent/electric/clothes/food/car/mobile/Broadband/ nights out etc etc etc

if someone gets 3k left to themselves each months after all there bills are paid there very lucky..

Plus there the prices of the other PC components you upgrade randomly

having bought my new ultrawide Alienware AW3418DW and having a 1080 only, do you think buying a second hand 1080ti would be worth?

To be honest I am a self employed person, I can afford a 2080 ti or whatever but I don't want anyone to laugh at me basically

Dude, do whatever you want to do. If you're comfortable with it then that's up to you.

It's like Nvidia have some people's self esteem, they need to buy it back every year or so.

Only way to stop Nvidia's greed is just stop buying em. Wait till they drop the price, then buy.

The market sets the price, there's just too many people willing to bend over.

I given up on believing the market sets the price as loads of stuff just keeps going up and up and up and people still just keep buying what ever the prices..

There is an Irish bar that is awesome in Rotterdam. Come and meet us for a bevvie or 2 :)

Would if I could but I'm up to my neck in the mess of fixing up this place, working every day on it from morning to evening. Next time?

It's like making a sandwich, isn't it? Grab some die borders (since we're making up things like that guy you cited), dip that knife way deep in that liquid tech jar, yep that's right all the way in there, and you smear that metal paste all over. :p

The only thing that is basically a given is that we'll see a 7nm refresh in 2019, within a year from now.

Nvidia are like the apple of the pc industry in some ways. Even their presentations come off as apple like with the way Jensen likes to repeat things like Jobs used to.

Totally, try explaining that to Beany_bot please. Counterproductive and costly.
You need to learn the words. Possibility speculating, and wouldn't be surprised.

Both you and gregster (surprise surprise prise) are saying I am making "claims, statements and facts"

I'm not explaining again. I said I wouldn't be surprised if nivida are at it. Now calm down and stop making a mountain out of a molehill.

Jeso. Usually the salt is coming from those who aren't buying the cards. This time it's from those who have bought it. Buyers remorse perhaps.
