Ouija boards - don't mess with them

I had similar ghost/Ouija stories when I was 14 but you can put me in the most haunted house with a Ouija board and I wouldn't flinch.
Anything that 'happened' I would take with a pinch of salt and people playing tricks around me.
100% skeptic.

read up about the ideomotor action - its been well researched for over 150 years

Ideomotor phenomenon is a psychological phenomenon wherein a subject makes motions unconsciously.
Hmm, ideomotor action proves Ouija boards are nonsense, how the hell have you got it so wrong :)

Do you know The Villas, off London Rd? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Villas There used to be a large abandoned house at the top of there and as kids we used to get in and muck about with a Ouija board. That place was sinister as hell anyway and used to pay tricks with your mind, so yeah....

I didn't know they had their own WIKI page, I cycled up there about 2 months ago because I'd parked there when I went to 'Jollees' to watch a band and never seen that road before.
I then found out that Stanley Matthews used to live up there when I got talking to one of the owners.

Our cubs/scout troop used hold a carol concert up there each Christmas (our scout hut was right opposite), all stood around that small memorial in the centre of the circle halfway up singing away, and roasted chestnuts on tap. It was proper Dickensian, especially if it was snowing.

no problem, i was confused there!

I'd be impressed if the glass moved and nobody was touching it :)

I've got an idiot relative who holds a crystal on a piece of string and reckons it can answer things.
I told her it was ideomotor phenomenon but she said you have to touch the string.
I hung the the crystal down from a shelf and invited her to place her fingers on top of the shelf holding the string down and then ask questions - guess what? the crystal obviously never moved :)
What was funny was that she was baffled why it wasn't working :)

The silly bint has now got her daughter off her anti-depressants and talked her into vaping CBD oil :(

i despair at the human race sometimes, its like we haven't advanced further than the dark ages.

Many moons ago I got chatting to this woman, bit hippyish but a cracking looking specimen, in The Rigger and ended up going back to her place for the night. Turned out she was one of those nutters and started to place crystals on, and around, the bed whilst mumbling a chant of some description and had more incense burning than the Vatican on the second coming of Christ himself. I was going to get laid, so just went along with all this. Everything was alright for a while, right up until my eyes started to sting and stream uncontrollably from the smoke was now filling the room like a good old fashioned Victorian era London pea-souper. I just had to go to the bathroom and wash my eyes out, and it was then that I discovered that crystals are way more painful that Lego when barefoot. The blood was everywhere.

I may know this woman if she was in The Rigger

I'd happily mess about with this Ouija board.

i certainly wouldn't she's as flat as one.

Nearly everyone has a high quality camera in their pocket nowadays but still no proof!
This statement reveals an underlying assumption, tho.

Either that the "others" (I won't say ghosts or spirits or whatever, so pick your own poison) are mindless/unable to discern your recording devices; or have no desire to avoid being detected recorded in a manner which removes all doubt of their existence.

That's a fairly big assumption to make when considering the context, here.

Quite an interesting point and not often considered even theoretically.
