What film did you watch last night?

I just got home from seeing Glass. Would probably score it 7/10. McAvoy is the highlight of the film, such a brilliant acting he does as Kevin. I really didn't expect that ending but in some ways its a good ending I think.

Don't Breathe

5/10

A film in which all of the main characters deserved to die...including the mutt.

Had the choice of Mary Queen of Scots, Glass, Stan & Ollie and Upside tonight, opted for a Mary and Lizzie showdown.

Good film, not sure how historically accurate but at least some of the facts between who rules what are correct…this is how i get my England and Scotland history lessons as all these King and Queen so and so is rather confusing to me!

Anyway, good film, Saoirse Ronan is just amazing again, from high school high in Ladybird to a queen she plays it very well. Lots of talking, back stabbing and politics but I would recommend it if you like Saoirse Ronan, this is her movie.

The old man and the gun.

People often say "They don't make them like that anymore" when referring to older movies, but this is an exception to that rule. It looks and feels exactly like a movie made in the late 70's/early 80's. I assume they used film stock of the time (or just digitally graded it) but it's spot on in terms of the aesthetic and even the directing/editing style.

As for the film, I really enjoyed it. If it's Redford's last movie then it's very fitting, and at 90 minutes it breezes by.

8.5/10

Revisited one of my childhood favs

Stay Tuned (1992)

It hasn't aged brilliantly, but the special effects still have a certain charm about them.
The little fake hell-related versions of shows and adverts still raised a chuckle, but show a current teenager and they are unlikely to get many of the references. The excercise and old man bits were still amazing.

6/10

The Revenant. 8/10

Very enjoyable. Great work by Tom Hardy as the baddie. Awesome scenery throughout and some great action sequences, not least the main scene early on in the movie. I believe it's based on true events but I think they must have really stretched the truth because a lot of it seems too heroic with one too many lucky escapes to be believable.

It's on iplayer for another 10 days for anyone else that hasn't seen it yet.

Halloween 2018

Quite a lot of kills, but also lots of stupidly and a total "what the ****?" moment when
Michael Myers doctor kills the sheriff just because he wants to hear Michael speak?!

6.5/10

We watched this last night, was a bit meh and predictable at times.

And yeh, I totally agree with your spoiler - WTF?!

6.5/10

I think its the only horror film where the killer can basically walk faster than people run.

The Favourite - Weird and wonderful, sometimes just weird, sometimes just wonderful, sometimes both.

Glass - Hmmmmm it's good. Ties up the trilogy. I like it but also wish it could be more in some ways.
