Well we already know we can get it for ~£470 delivered if you buy from across the pond (Thats including the VAT). So any more than that will be "not best value".Should be £500 absolute max or is ocuk known for overinflating launch prices? 3600 CL16 RAM going up by £20 yesterday is of course a bad precedent but hopefully it will launch at max £500 here...should even be around £490
German rainforest has pre-orders up. Prices are...high. GBP equivalents:
R5 3600: £236
R5 3600X: £287
R7 3700X: £367
R7 3800X: £414
R9 3900X £489
Why would they charge £40 more than the rainforest? no one would buy it here.
Also, it can't possibly be more than the $ price. That makes literally no sense.
AMD is launching five new processor SKUs this July, including the 12-core/24-thread Ryzen 9 3900X, the 8-core/16-thread Ryzen 7 3800X and 3700X, and the 6-core/12-thread Ryzen 5 3600X and 3600. Prices over previous-generation products remain flat wherever applicable. The 3700X is being launched at the same $329.99 MSRP as the 2700X, the 3600X at a slightly higher $249.99 compared to the $239.99 the 2600X launched at; and the 3600 aims to be the sub-$200 king at the same $199.99 price as the 2600. The 3800X is being launched as a premium 8-core option at $399.99, and the 3900X can be yours for $499.99. We expect most online retailers to mark these prices up by 5-10 percent as they normally do.
Hhhmm they seem a tad high to me. Was hoping the 3700X would have been closer to £300 not £400

Was there ever a reason to expect Ryzen to have decent overclock potential? So like the previous 2 generations the CPUs are clocked to their limits??

That cPU looks damagedPrices from a UK retailer were already posted here a few days ago and they were all cheaper than those prices.

If they are so bad at overclocking like he says, then why is AMD hyping PBO so much...I didn't but a few people were expecting 5GHZ on here IIRC.

"Affordable small case" and SFF builds do not go hand-in-hand. Cheap cases for small builds are usually woeful for airflow and cooling capacity, especially if you're looking at putting the 16 core beast in there. ANd what's wrong with ITX? Does everything MATX does in a much smaller package.
Genuinely, what's the point of matx when mitx is smaller?
I don't think anyone here expects them not to since we are the ones who benefit from competition. I just don't think it will go down very well for them to hype PBO so much if the CPUs don't have any OC potential, because its their reputation on the line. Considering its all eyes on Zen 2 at the moment, it can hurt their sales.Remember AMD Fury X? AKA "Overclockers' Dream"
We all want AMD to succeed, as they are the underdog, but let's not forget AMD likes to deceive just as much as Intel or Nvidia.
What did You expected ?? I said if I culd hit Max boost on All core IT's better outcome than I expected.Prices from a UK retailer were already posted here a few days ago and they were all cheaper than those prices.
