Its really not, I had both cards briefly before I sold the amd one, testing it before sending. There was blurring with FreeSync on, that had completely gone with gsync compatible turned on now...

Performance/watt is much better than I expeced,so slightly better than Turing? Sure,when Nvidia itself gets to 7NM,they will be leading but without HBM2 to help,AMD have done better than I thought!

Navi/RDNA is actually better in that review then I was expecting (besides the Wolfenstein result), it's power draw is lower then the new 2070 super. I wonder if this will be repeated in other reviews.

One of 2 things happening.

Either they turned on Adaptive shading, which boosts Turing performance. Or more likely, Navi doesn't like Vulkun

Can't be. Commentators here (who surely know what they're talking about) have been saying that it's twice the price hence 5700 "must be" £400+ to break even

It's probs £400+ to break even when you factor in Lisa's £100 cut on each one sold

It's cheaper per unit.
16nm wafer costs 3100$, 7nm wafer costs 5000$.
16nm cost per unit is 0.20, 7nm cost per unit is 0.11-0.12, or ~55-60% of the cost.

The question is what is unit?

Edit: if a unit is a transistor, then 7nm is slightly more expensive, maybe 5-10% per sq.mm than 16nm.

On that note, it pains me to say it but a 2080 on my FreeSync monitor is actually smoother than my Radeon 7 was...

I thought we'd see V64 performance so it's doing better than I thought it would & hopefully it'll have the usual oddities fixed so we could & should see VII or better performance in titles like Project cars.

Some are on offer at the moment. Bought an ASUS 570 for around £99 this morning to replace this r9 380 now that the fans have decided to stop working on it..

It's definitely a big question mark & if I was in the market for Navi I'd be waiting on that before buying.

I'm in the market for Navi, Ryzen 3000 and X570 and not sure what I'll do yet. Navi is a no on release because of the blower cooler. The rest is all down to price, a decent price to performance ratio will be a day one buy. If not I can wait...
