If that chart and prices are true I will be getting a 4960X for £300 in about 2 years time ;)

What an upgrade that would be eh?

Doubt those prices are accurate though. Just being wishful again and setting self up for disappointment.

If we've learned anything from last year, it's to take a gallon of salt with anything like that posted.

The 3xxx leaks/speculations were nowhere near in many cases.

It's going to be the same deal as the 3000 series leaks: right now this information is accurate in this is probably what AMD are planning, give or take a couple quid. By the time Computex rolls around there will be a couple of factors which have changed the plan.

That being said, if we assume this information is accurate, there's probably not as many big factors that can skew this. TSMC will have a good idea what 7nm EUV can do so the clock speeds are likely to be accurate. Intel are nowhere on the desktop so there's unlikely to be a big performance leap from them causing AMD to respond with a lower price, and conversely Intel's performance can't get any worse so the current price point is sufficient (although I'd say a wee bit low in the top tiers).

Bucket o salt time, but Computex is 8 months away, the Ryzen 3000 leaks were already months old before they came out a year in advance.

and $300 dollors for 12 cores and 8 core for $200 also very important:)

It's interesting that they do push for low prices but only on the old generation.
You get 8 cores for $130.

There is no technical difficulty to release a 12-core Ryzen 3000 at much lower price - they could use the chiplets that are otherwise needed for the 6-core Ryzen 5s.

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8 Core CPU Available At An Insanely Good Price of $130 US, Get A AAA Game and Xbox Game Pass As Well

you buy a last generation of anything and you get a deep discount. look at car's a new number plate comes out and the car with the earleir number plate gets 3/4k knocke dof price instantly. same car though same engine same evrything but omg cheaper:)

buying the latest and greatest will allways cost you more :) but on a plus side next year you might be able to get a 3900x at £300 pounds new though so waiting a year and u can get those prices:)

why would amd sell the 12 core with 2 x ryzen chiplets at a much lower price its allready shown amd can sell 12 cores for a comanding price. amd are a company and they are there to make money and make money they will:)

but i really cant see amd changing anything next year for the 4000 series ryzen 5 ebing 6/12 ryzen 7 being 8/16 and ryzen 9 being 12/24 and 16/32 and at the same price they are now. Intel could change that and the 10 series could be out of this world and demolish am. or could come and go with a wimper:( but amd wont chnage much for next generation only make them faster keep prices and take more marketshare and fill there coffers!

This means that AMD itself doesn't appreciate its older generation. I am not going to pay £300 for the Ryzen 7 3700X that is only 15% on average faster than the £130 Ryzen 7 2700X lol. That is 2.30 times the price lol.

if you want the best eprformance the 3700x is a upgrade over the 2700x heck even the 3600x is a upgrade over the 2700x! is many ways But your money is your money and you buy what you want we can only advise. But expecting amd to undercut there cpus by a large amrgain from your liitle graph of stuff is not going to happen and i expect ryzen 5 7 and 9 to be in the same ballpark as they are now not at deep discounts

What I am saying is that there should be some wise balance. I don't get neither the deep discounts on the old generation nor the super inflated prices of the current generation. It's a malicious policy..

https://wccftech.com/amd-zen-3-new-cpu-architecture-significant-ipc-gains-higher-clocks/

When asked about what kind of performance gain Milan's CPU core microarchitecture, which is known as Zen 3, will deliver relative to the Zen 2 microarchitecture that Rome relies on in terms of instructions processed per CPU clock cycle (IPC), Norrod observed that -- unlike Zen 2, which was more of an evolution of the Zen microarchitecture that powers first-gen Epyc CPUs -- Zen 3 will be based on a completely new architecture.

Norrod did qualify his remarks by pointing out that Zen 2 delivered a bigger IPC gain than what's normal for an evolutionary upgrade -- AMD has said it's about 15% on average -- since it implemented some ideas that AMD originally had for Zen but had to leave on the cutting board. However, he also asserted that Zen 3 will deliver performance gains "right in line with what you would expect from an entirely new architecture."
