AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

Hello all, someone mentioned that servers are updating but there will be no buy buttons yet. So are we still waiting for the buy button to appear or is it already sold on all the 6800 cards?

Thanks

Due to traffic, the website is taking a long time to refresh. We have multiple servers so, it's possible that some people will see them before others, but there's no buy button. Also, as it stands we'll only have Sapphire and Powercolor listed because of late information from other vendors. Gibbo will probably get the others up over the next day or two.

I can see them now, thanks.

My point exactly! Better for my sanity to pay a bit more circa 800 and get out of this rat race and enjoy a new 6800XT in 30 days!

Oh and I'll probably get £150 for my RTX 2060 from CEX so my purchase price is actually 800-150=£650 Almost MSRP!

That would be on you for selling to CEX when you can get £300 for a RTX 2060 non-super.

There won't be a "Buy" button, OC UK have none in stock to sell and they don't know when they will arrive.

Less of your cheek young fella
oh I wish I was young :p

I totally understand the faith issue, I've referred to it earlier in this thread also. Unfortunately, we also feel like we've been hung out to dry, but, because we rely on our relationships with the vendors we can't publicly go to war with them.

they're being sold directly so you'll get them for MSRP if you can beat the bots

Well just guessing here, but MSRP might be £1318.68

$999 -> UK (10% duty, maybe and then 20% VAT ontop of all that)

$999 -> £1098.90 -> £1318.68

No idea what is duty free in electronics world.

If duty free then an absolute minimum £1198.80

Maybe a cost for shipping etc too. *shrug*

Probably better off for these launches with some kind of system where previous purchasers (to avoid bot spam) can register interest to buy and allocate tickets (based on availability) to purchase via random selection hah then list any left over stock later.

Hammer and the anvil and OcUK in between?

As they already said a few times - they have no manpower to implement any of such system.

I think the 6900Xt was advertised by AMD as $999, so that will be £1000 to £1100, maybe, maybe more...
The mad part is, WE don't know! still...we honestly don't have a clue what our cost pricing is going to be, the NDA is air tight

Unfortunately, as I've said many times already in this thread. Until we can find a way to do this completely online, which would definitely require a beefier account system, there's no way that we can realistically achieve this. It took three days to manually cancel all of the 6800 XT oversell (a process which takes less than a minute per order) there's no way that we would have the man power to deal with over 700 orders manually.

Shouldn't have to cancel orders with that system - people could register interest to buy with an existing account before the launch then system randomly allocates a token or ticket randomly to those people based on availability that can be used to purchase on the day - no one else can put orders through.

As they already said a few times - they have no manpower to implement any of such system.

Not sure I'm explaining it very well but it doesn't take manpower to do - we've used that kind of system before in places I've worked previously (not electronics/GPU related products).

Depending on demand, etc. you may need to time limit how long such a token is valid for before reissuing it which might disappoint some customers but better than having to cancel 100s of orders and less getting hit by bots, etc.

There is no guarantee you will get it on the 31st though its an ETA. Dont forget what the Xmas post is like in between Xmas and New Year !

Better off just sitting back and relaxing till next year when you can have Covid vaccine and then get a 6800xt for a more reasonable price when they are in stock and in plentiful supply

Their 6800xt was £588 with the $ price being $599. It has dropped as low as £581 but back up to £584 now as it fluctuates with the $ price. With that the 6900xt would then be similar making it around £950 mark.

God this **** show from AMD has got me looking at an RTX3090 for £1250 (I don't pay the vat). Nooooooooooo

**Must stop looking its a terrible value card!!!

Might try for a 6900XT perhaps?
