Is this yet more Frostbite shananigans?
That was a part of it. All the other BFs were based on a 2016 version of the frostbite engine. They wanted to move to the latest version but the people who knew how the engine worked had all left. It was at a point where they couldn't even get the game to run, so they brought on the CTO of frostbite to get the game to a launchable state. That's deffo a lot of shenanigans.
The original player base you could say are old school. They aren't into what the game developers/publishers are chasing for the Battle Royale/Hero generation so they get alienated.
The originals didn't need all this hand holding stuff that you see is plagued in games today. Dumbing down games that is so blatantly obvious especially the RNG that you see in so many games allowing others to get kills.
I believe we are in the era of snow flakes and predatory practices of micro transactions. Money money money.
This whole scenario is basically EA going, look at all the monies fortnite and cod is making! The sad thing is, they knew this is the direction they wanted to take but instead they devoted their marketing to the old format, basically lied.
Loads of software companies see subscription or microtransactions as THE business model to follow so they are all trying to imitate it.
edit: snow flakes is banned? wtf?
