I hate to say I called it, but well, I called it.![]()
a lot of gamers will be , as its their jobMany though prefer high refresh gaming over the 60 fps experience, thats down to choice and preference. ive had a 4k panel for 6 years, but my son has a 120 hz 1080p one.
Whopper of an ego you have there Matt....![]()
I just don't like the game, something about it feels off to me. But that may just been the Halo feel as never played it before.
It's now uninstalled and back to Vanguard for me.
Very nice! Do you find the extra 120HZ at 1440P help? Probably does in this game tbf.Yeah I'm not really a Halo fan , feels very much like Destiny 2 to me but as its free will keep it installed and have a few games every now and then . So the HWU new video show what we worked out yesterday that the 6900xt /3090 are nigh on identical performance wise on this game at 4K
Like yourself i much prefer my COD games ( not a BF fan ) and am currently loving Vanguard / MW MP at 1440p with 240hz , not really liking the new Battle Royale map though , needs sweeping changes urgently but that is something for the COD thread

It feels good at 4K120 but guess the extra HZ will help reflexes and response times.
Put up a video at 1440P.
I have not tried below my native 4K120 yet but will give it a go at 1440P and see how it runs.
I'll put up a video too, but only once I have a semi decent round.![]()
Cheers mate, thought as much.Yeah the main thing i notice playing at 240 vs 120 is the ability to track the other players when they are moving around the screen , they just seem so much easier to notice and target which makes me feel like I'm cheating at times but is what it isThe difference from 60 to 120 is a massive jump and noticeable in every area, the jump from 120 to 240 not as noticeable but does feel nicer for sure . i think a lot of this has to do with playing on an oled at 120hz which has instant response times and even my new monitor ( PG279QM ) isn't as fast as can be seen in the HWU oled review
You will double your fps and then some when dropping from 4k to 1440p on a 6900xt i reckon , will be very interested to see what it does . This is using DLSS ( FSR identical ) . Will pop a video up later today![]()
Not like for like in terms of lining up exact scene for scene since game and PC has to be rebooted for it to take effect. 3440x1440 and max settings (with animations set to max)
In motion/running around, FPS is higher too although not much in it, maybe only 3-4 fps on average.
I would classify FC 6, guardians of the galaxy as being "big" too, ubi and marvel/eidos.... Icarus is pretty big too, given it's by dayz creator.
I know you did, hence why I only listed stalker 2 and dying light 2 as upcoming RT titles, again, they are "big" titles.
Halo WILL have ray tracing.
https://www.windowscentral.com/halo-infinite-still-getting-ray-tracing-post-launch?amp
Honestly the % percentage of games released with RT is increasing compared to last couple years specially with ubisoft , sony, Microsoft ,EA starting to implement them, anyone thinking otherwise is in denial.
Games looks quality detail from your screenshots! Will wait and see if the price comes down for the campaign.
FC6 kinda feels its been kicked down a notch.
Gurdians is a definite nope, especially after the Avengers S storm.
Icarus barely made a dent, so nope.
Stalker has never been seen as a big title, its just infamous within the PC community with its history of being high end at the time, its not big, dying light 2 to as well, its just not really big production, a lot of people aren't upgrading to high end hardware to play these games specifically, this is the thing, the big games that have released and especially on release aren't getting RT, its really moot getting RT after the fact, I question how many people in the grand scheme of things actually go back to a game to play again just to see it in RT.
I think you give some of these games too much benefit of the doubt.
They do not touch the likes of Halo and Forza these days,
Yeah Forza 5 and most other games don't see such a discrepancy. I mean, it can't be a VRAM issue because the 580 has more than the 2060. And the 2060 simply isn't more than twice as fast as a 580, I don't think I've seen a single other game where that is the case.Really ****** optimised game but in Microsoft's defense Forza 5 seemed to run fine in older cards.
Halo doesn't even seem that great visually honestly when there is games out there like Red dead 2 (specially considering this one runs fine on any older hardware), people here will be arguing and creating drama from the 5/10 FPS difference between AMD/Nvidia cards when in reality this game runs quite poorly and you can tell barely has any optimization.

Guardians of the galaxy was nominated for GOTY and received some awards.
Personally I replayed metro exodus and Doom eternal when they got the RT update, I don't buy games based on having RT or not but it's clearly becoming a big thing, even hitman 3 about to get a RT update.
Dying light 2 is absolutely a "big" title, first one sold over 17million copies, that's no small feat specially for a new IP.
Thank you @Nexus18 for the screenshots, any improvement is worthwhile. How do the 1% lows feel ? Its interesting because resizeable bar support came to linux in 2015 (and on nvidia cards), yet its suddenly a new feature in 2021 on windows

Sounds good. We should have a game of Vanguard sometime if you fancy it?You will double your fps and then some when dropping from 4k to 1440p on a 6900xt i reckon , will be very interested to see what it does . This is using DLSS ( FSR identical ) . Will pop a video up later today![]()
That's why I said I wasn't holding my breath for his followup review. The guy hates Radeon GPUs. It's not that he simply favor Nvidia. He simply despise Radeon. And he is implying that when he said he won't enable SAM support in future GPU benchmarks. He's not just doubling down. He really hate Radeon/AMD.Steve is doubling down. 'We are not going to test with SAM/ReBar enabled.'
That's unfortunate but not entirely unexpected. It's easier to double down rather than admit you got it wrong.
It means I can't reliably compare performance data using HUB, since I know that all of their RDNA numbers are wrong and below what they should be.
At least we have Computerbase and PcGameshardware who test using these standard features and they both do an excellent job, so its not the end of the world.
I am willing to believe that he kept rebar support enabled for nvidia gpus in Halo Infinite and noticed very little performance improvement...
