What film did you watch last night?

Share the same sentiments as above in regards to Marvel films, in the sense they're becoming quite tiring to watch. Definitely couldn't sit through a 3 hour Marvel film these days.

Typically enjoy Bollywood flicks of this ilk, but about 18mins into RRR, the anti-English wokery was grating, and soon after an hour I just couldn't stomach what was basically (to me) just lazy, low brow racism...

Shame, was enjoying much of the rest of it...

Yep we saw it last night, a very minimalistic film but managed to ramp that tension up to the max. Had a queasy feeling in my stomach and sweaty palms throughout the film :cry:

Nope - Jordan Peeles latest - 7/10 - falls apart towards the end but full marks for actually attempting something a bit unique. Quite a strong subtext about the need to record, publicise and profit from everything these days, even at the cost of your own life a lot of the time.

Agree! Land of Mine is a great war film. @Huxton and @Andrew_McP have you seen Riphagen? Well worth a watch if you have Netflix. :)

Talking of Cliffhanger, having a couple of duff films (Rocky V, Stop or My Mom will Shoot) in the late eighties, Sly's career was on the wane and then Cliffhanger came out... :cool:
 
FALL (2022) - 7/10

Great vertigo inducing cinematography and a thrilling first half, but it didn’t quite pan out as I was expecting.

The plot follows the more traditional route of personal drama instead of overcoming a challenge, but was still good, even though it gets less and less realistic as it progresses.

The acting was great and the film has a good length to it with an awe-inspiring setting and stunts.
 
Man of Tai Chi (2013) - 6/10

The story isn’t anything special, but has some very entertaining fight scenes full of fast paced martial arts, although they tend to be understated rather than showy in their style.

Reeves suits his role as the mysterious benefactor pulling the strings, but does look a bit out of place considering the rest of the cast.

The film has a good length to it, but seemed to lack something overall.

Yep, just back from seeing this and thoroughly enjoyed it, though slightly cliched in one aspect (and I suspect led you to feel it didn't pan out the way you thought it would), but doesn't really distract to it overall.

Fall 7/10

Saw this in the cinema when it was first released. The moment Sly dropped her (spoilers!) i have never heard a cinema gasp so loudly. As she fell it was like everybody was holding their breath - and from that moment we were hooked.

Yeah that scene was incredible. Edge of your seat stuff. Really tense.
