A lot of the Russian population (like well into 90odd percent) are simply what you get when you bring people up within a system thats that bad.

We are all massively influenced by how we are brought up. At individual level (ie your parents) etc, but also from the macro environment of the country etc

You cannot blame the majority of the individual Russians. I don't doubt for one minute that most of us would think the same way as them if the positions were reversed.

the allies held every German accountable for ww2, was this a mistake? The German people faced consequences for their government through punishment dealt out by the allies. Was this done in error?

What exactly are you referring to? High ranking German officials were put on trial in Nuremberg, we did not consider "every German" to be guilty. We could also speak about how Ukraine welcomed their Nazi liberators in WW2, but that would be off topic.

The allies levied heavy reparations on Germany which every German citizen paid for for decades, Germans had to get jobs, work to make money which was paid to the allies as reparations from taxes. That effectively means every German was held accountable and paid for the sins of ww2.

Majority or the Russian people are in poverty; and by that is absolute (by western standards). No runnign water or electricity, broken homes - i watched a video about the road to siberia, every town was the same, run down and corruption was rife everywhere. Dont blame people when they are offered good money to go to a war 3000 miles away, when they have nothing.

Bomber Harris knew the city was full of people running away from the Soviets, 90% of the city were refuggee`s. Against advice he orered the city flattened - more people were killed in 3 nights than the entire blitz.

What was different is all German military personell could be held accountable in court for military crimes and didn't have excuse of "just following orders"
I would say reparations were par for the course for a defeated nation and were less impactful than ones after ww1

No, dummies like you enable things like genocide, you give free passes and try your stupid both sides arguments and excuses while other people die. no Russian is innocent doesn't equate to they are all equally guilty, you simpleton. It means they share a collective responsibility to make things right.... or not to, and be judged when they don't.

No German was innocent in WW2, but they weren't all equally guilty, and we judge Germans today on how the society and culture has evolved and changed

No Britain was innocent for its imperial rampage around the world, but I bet you hope you are now judged on how it's changed, and for the better.

It's on Russia to change its culture.. or not, and be judged by the world on their actions.

What was the main issue that lead to the rise of Fascism in Germany in the 1930's do you think? Why did a lot of average German citizens think it necessary to vote Adolf Hitler into power?

Collective punishment is illegal under the Geneva convention. Russians who are guilty of crimes are guilty, Russians who have committed no crimes are not guilty.

100% disagree. There were plenty of innocent German families who were caught up in WW2 and were themselves victims of Nazism and let down by their psychotic leader waging war.

Most people in Russia are victims of propaganda, just like most people in the West also seem to be. You may as well be telling me that most North Koreans are themselves to blame for how they're currently starving and living in abject poverty.
