What'll happen is some poor dude will get thrown under the bus and the system will continue to not function as intended. One point I agree with D.P is that the system is underfunded and one can only conclude that it is deliberate.

It is deliberate because it causes headlines like x million spent on asylum seekers hotel bills. The Tories believe this will directly lead to voted because, well sending 100 people to rawanda while breaking many international laws will have such a profound impact.

This week the Upper Tribunal court, sitting in Central London, allowed his appeal on human rights grounds, saying “very compelling circumstances... outweigh the public interest”.

Oh great, maybe more people could get raped if he has a "sexual emergency", but as long as he's not sent home, that's fine.

That's just hotels, never mind private rented houses, clothes, phones, pocket money, medical, dental, interpetors etc etc. The bill is phenomenal and for what? Where is the published plan? Hotel life forever?

And why are the overwhelming majority of them young men? Men fleeing war and persecution take their families with them. Men going to war leave their families behind.

The immigration explosion started in 1997 under new labour and hasn't faltered. It matters not a jot which of the two parties are in power, this is not going away, all this Rwanda nonsense is mere chaff to distract. The same thing is happening in all of western europe all at the same time. One might say in lockstep.

I suspect DP will still be blamming the 'tories' with his last breathe even if he was to meet a sticky end at the hands of the sort of people he advocates for.

About the only thing he's right about is that in the UK's particular case that 'asylum seekers' are only a smaller part of the problem, numerically speaking.

But the external migration Europe has seen in recent decades has been nothing but a disaster.

There is zero impact of immigration on minimum wage , this is decided by the government. In general, immigration increases average wages as GDP increases but differences are small. This is because labour demand is dynamic and salaries reflect micro and macro economics. This is why the as the UK population grew from 10millions tp 70 million we don't have 60million unemployed people, and average wages are far higher than 100 years ago despite a far hugh population and immigration rate..


This is basic economics.

This is interesting, show me that purchasing power adjusted data most of us are all docklands workers still - just behind a computer screen, for a disgusting wage (office worker on an average London salary cannot afford to live alone, its worse than docklands workers in the early XX century). Both me and my wife are 1 percenters and still can barely afford a house in a nice area. 50 years ago we would have owned 4000sqm Victorian mansion(by earning top 1% then, not earning nominal value today obviously) without breaking a sweat.

This is not basic economy, not when most of those wages from immigrants are going back to their home country.
You are using basic economy, so you know the relationship between supply and demand, yet you seem to ignore its effect on wages

I think he lives in Switzerland anyway and just reads the Guardian.

We don't actually know how many people are in the UK and it's quite possible that there are a few million more than the official population figures claim.

We don't do a good job of deporting the failed asylum applicants and we accept the majority of applicants anyway... something is going very wrong when France is rejecting >70% and we're accepting >70%... that suggests that they're finding reasons to reject at least half of those we'd accept.... and that's on top of the ones we have rejected who just opt to stay on anyway in the shadow economy and also those illegals who never even bothered to apply for asylum but will also just stay and work here illegally.

But D.P. will pop in with some dumb talking point about immigrants being great when he really means some group of legal immigrants including both French Bankers and successful asylum seekers can be said to be a net positive... but that's because of the French bankers and similarly highly skilled people etc.. it's got naff all to do with say the successful asylum seeker who ends up working as a cleaner and doesn't even include the failed applicants and illegals who end up as say kebab shop workers or nightclub toilet attendants "no splash, no gash"... we can't even account for them all, don't know how many there are and we're really bad at sending them back.
