Don’t Pc players spend more time fiddling with settings, than actually playing the game ? - or so I hear.Coming up to 15 years since I last owned a PC. It’s not worth it for me.
I mean, it’s still all rumours and speculation at this point.
Indeed.Hence "If this is true".

Edit. This should have been worded as a question tbh.
Yep, that's why I stopped PC gaming years ago, too much time messing with drivers, modifying ini files and finding optimal settingsDon’t Pc players spend more time fiddling with settings, than actually playing the game ? - or so I hear.

Heads up, Sony have got the PS5 slims at a reduced price until 25th February from their official store.
Exactly. I have spent most of my life gaming on PC (52 Years old) and it's got to the point that at least 80% of games I'm buying on PC are utter ***** due to poor optimisation. I am a heavy RPG gamer and the likes of Star Ocean The Divine Force and Valkyrie Elysium were virtually unplayable due to stutter. 4090 RTX here and spending all night trying to tweak the settings to no avail. I have been tweaking for years so I know what I'm doing, but we are getting really shafted these days with very poor PC ports (shader compilation). Even if I get a game going to my liking, I am constantly looking at RTSS making sure the frame rates and frame times don't go down. Some games are nicely optimised but not enough of them for my liking. I now boot up the PS5 with no worries. Okay, the performance is no where as good but I'll take it.This and how expensive everything got for me. I'd get a new game and spend the best part of an hour ******* about with settings and spend most of my time staring at the overlay for FPS, temps, etc. Not to mention unstable driver and having to force through an un-optimised game or wait a while for a stable driver.
I really miss the satisfaction of building up a machine and getting it running perfectly and have been in constant debate with myself whether to build one but it would just ultimately rot in the corner because I don't have the time anymore for the fiddling.
Much prefer getting home from work and fire up the console, and just playing the game.

Yeah, turning off overlays did wonders for my enjoyment of playing games on PC again. I was always way too obsessed with making sure my fps was a certain number and you just get to a point where you're watching a number rather than enjoying a game. Steam Big Picture is also a great way to make your PC feel 'console-like'. 90% of the time when I play a game on PC, I set my settings, run the game for a bit / run a benchmark, tweak to get to what I want (60fps for single player, 144+ for multi) and then never touch the settings again. Why don't you switch all of it off and just play? I know my gaming life has improved since uninstalling RTSS. I still have the Steam FPS in the top corner but if a game hitches and stutters once in a while, I'm not going to go mad about it. A good game worth playing will bring you in and keep you engrossed that you can overlook any technical anomalies. Admittedly if it's crashing left, right and centre or freezing a lot then that's something to try and fix (or wait for patch).
It's been by far the worst generation of gaming for me. So little that interested me on the PS5.Same. Got more than enough to keep me occupied at the moment.
