Companion 7/10, really enjoyed it for what it was, and without reading anything prior it was a good spin on a scenario that has been done loads of times before.
Watched this after seeing your post. The Electric State.
Cliché story, but I was just fascinated by the robots, which were just brilliantly designed and executed. This is one of those very rare movies that does stand up on it's special effects. Well, for me anyway, but I can understand why it wouldn't for other people. 7/10.
High Tension / Switchblade Romance - 8/10
Such a grimy, nasty horror film… and one of my favourite ones! Even with the bonkers ‘twist’. One of my favourite film soundtracks too, barring the slightly jarring Muse part. Watched the Second Sight 4K release and it looked great. A notable improvement on the Blu-Ray![]()
Pulp Fiction.
Hadn't watched it for years but remembered the iconic moments: diner dance, gimp dungeon etc.
Some classic moments but I felt it dragged on a bit.
7/10, maybe 7.5/10 because of Samuel L Jackson.
No where near as good as Runaway Train (1985) - love that movie.Unstoppable - Denzel Washington and Chris Pine on a train stopping a runway train. Decent enough film. 6/10.
Got that on Blu-ray somewhere. Been a while since I've seen it but yes it is better than Unstoppable which is a decent way to spend an afternoon but it isn't a classic. If you want classic classic train, then The Train with Burt Lancaster is pretty good.No where near as good as Runaway Train (1985) - love that movie.

I really like Unstoppable always thought of if more highly than 6/10, good drama. No where near as good as Runaway Train (1985) - love that movie.

Never watched Runaway Train, might have to look it up.
Trivia
Danny Trejo was visiting a friend who was working as a production assistant on the set when he was offered a job as an extra. Edward Bunker recognized Trejo because they served time in San Quentin State Prison together. Bunker helped Trejo get hired as Eric Roberts' boxing coach. Director Andrei Konchalovsky was so impressed with Trejo that he gave him a small role. Trejo later stated that he was staggered to find out that the coaching job earned him $320 per day, which was more than he had ever gotten from a robbery.
