What film did you watch last night?

That's brilliant. Barely remembered Trejo was in Runaway Train. Can't believe it was his first role too. Almost worth saying, "Remember kids, crime doesn't pay".... as much as getting a small role in a Hollywood film!! :D

Makes you wonder why so many people choose a life of crime over becoming a successful Hollywood movie star.

Watched Longlegs on Sat Night... Boy it was terrible. I actually like they main female character but the story was convoluted and the premise was silly. Not even scary for 99% of the time and then its just a jump scare. Longlegs was just a silly character and looked stupid. And Nic Cage was unhinged as usual.

Before or after becoming a Hollywood star? :p
And there was me thinking you were going to say Silver Streak :p
Unlikely! Hadn't heard of this movie before you mentioned it. Should have clarified "classic classic train" as in "classic classic train drama, not comedy and definitely not starring Gene Wilder". ;-)

Hate Trejo, armed robbery, drug dealer, involved in murder - now a Hollywood star.

A proper turd of a guy gets rewarded like this.
people can change - and by all accounts Trejo is a very, very different person to the one he was in his youth. not condoning or making light of his crimes but he served time for them and seemingly changed his ways. in some ways he should be the 'poster boy' for the criminal system - look at what you can be if you turn away from a life of crime.

Changed his ways, i'm sure his millions helped in some way with 'changing his ways'. Not sure his victims or victims families are pleased for him.

Fair play for rehabilitation and maybe he is a better person, but that doesn't take away he was a very scummy character. Not the only one in Hollywood either!

Crime pays for a lot of people, unfortunately.

Have any people read about Danny Trejo's life? His crimes were as a preteen and teenager - he was 15 when he was part of a prison riot and hit a guard. His early life sounds horrific and was using heroin by 12. Yes he was a a horrible kid, but has been sober for 50+ years and paid his debt. Good luck to him and we can only hope that more troubled kids can change their lives.

Black Bag (2025) - 7/10

British espionage at its finest with ample suaveness and style.

The story’s a bit slow at the start as it establishes the characters and their convoluted relationships, but when the plot does pick up, it’s good and has a great ending.

Good acting from the charismatic characters with plenty of dirty laundry, backstabbing and high-level intellect on show, although it wasn’t as thrilling or exciting as expected.

Shooter - 9/10

Seriously, I REALLY enjoyed this. Such a great cast and Marky Mark did really well. I am not a fan of Michael the Pena but he was very good in this. Audio was absolutely fantastic with the punchy sniper rounds hitting home.

Love this film too. All round performances were great I thought. Though Danny Glover did seem to be trying to break in a new set of teeth as he appeared to have a lisp or some such when talking.

Starship Troopers
I've not seen this for decades. It was superb of course.
9/10
Do you want to know more?
Have you heard that Neil Blomkamp (District 9) is looking at remaking this?

I love the original but I also love District 9 and would like to see what he could do so am torn by this news.
