I'm going to give it a few more days or a week and I'll lodge a complaint
They have admitted on there that the company dealing with the reward cards are having issues.

Whats the issues ?

If they are having issues then its plusnet that should be dishing out the rewards not the company thats having issues :)

You cant lure people in to a contract which costs more and then not deliver promises

My area has only recently had FTTP installed and my contract with Virgin ends at the end of September, how far in advance do you think I should sign up to Plusnet?

All they said was
There is currently a known issue with some promotion offers on some accounts however I will be chasing this up with our billing operations team to check for an update on the incident.

As I said anyone with an issue should look /report on the PN forum but the posts indicate that they are getting the issue sorted.

Leaving plusnet in a few weeks. The contract nearly doubles after the minimum term and the best loyalty offer was still over 15% more than a new customer.

As soon as a request had gone in that I was sniffing round another provider (not openreach as they supposedly have to calculate a cost of leaving) Plusnet were on the phone demanding a reason why I hadn't given them a chance. I did, the offer was rubbish, I left. Apparently I was supposed to allow them "another chance" after that to offer me a better deal. Still refused to accept that their sales tactics were why I was leaving and wouldn't offer me a price anywhere close to what a new customer could get. Wouldn't have switched if they'd kept the price the same.

No loyalty offer from plusnet, been with them for 8+yrs and the best they could give is more than the new customers offer luckily communityfibre is now available and could now move away from plusnet.

IIRC I have been a member of Plusnet for around 25 years. I do not think, when changing from one type of connection to another, the latest being FTTP, that I have ever had anything to what could be considered a loyalty type package offered. I have managed, over the phone, to have some reasonable offerings but nothing exceptional, but now there are other providers in my area for FTTP they do seem expensive.............But it does work and does so well, their support, when needed, has been great for me. Although I have not needed it for a long time.
Just checked and I seem to have only been a member of their forums since 2013, not sure why.

Each time the contract is up, I make a new account and change the username slightly so I don't forget it from something like xxxx1 to xxxx2, xxxx3, xxx4 and so on ;) new customer deal plus cashback and the internet goes on again :) They are rubbish for existing customers, which is my only real complaint.

And it never gets flagged that it's the same address ie current customer?

Never a problem, it's always the same email address and personal details too. I'm not sure what they could say or do about it, to be honest. I have wondered if it breaches any terms and conditions, but if that was the cas,e I'd just swap and change signups each time between my partner and myself :D

10 month remaining for me, thanks for the tip :D

Thinking of going full-fibre with PN. Would you take their 'Hub Two' router, or do your own thing?

I already have an Asus RT-AC68U which I've ben using with PN FTC for years, so could use that, but that's 10 years old now and due an upgrade either way.

You’ll need their router regardless.

If you have any problems, they will not do anything if you have a 3rd party router connected unless it’s obvious the problem is at their end.

The PN router will probably be better anyway as it will have wifi 6 or 7 unlike that Asus.

The hub 2 router is probably a bit better
Than a 10 year old asus
But never used mine think I have 2 x hub 2 unused
In a cupboard somewhere
Replaced them with cheap hauwei ax3 at £30 each
For a cheap wifi 6 mesh network

Just don't tell them if you have an issue
That you're using your own router
Or as said they will try to blame that
