Drop in and working 16 core with all features. VRM etc.

Chipset prices.

Minimum PCB spec to ensure signalling for pci ex 4.0 is met. They are now literally server grade pcb.

These boards are not cheap to make.

Not everyone cares about the price .. They want all the benefits of the new cpu and platform. The reliability of sever grade while hammering high core count cpus.

Old boards never developed for these cpus no matter which way you look at it.

At last AMD users have got the aesthetics and build quality of an X series Intel board....

So these will be the new "normal" motherboard prices going forward when intel also switch to PCIE 4?

Will they nearly double in price again when PCIE 5 becomes the main?

At what point does this madness stop?

This is supposed to be the mainstream platform, not HEDT like Intel X and AMD Threadripper for crying out loud.

Thankfully we don't need x570 to run ryzen 2 so no big loss.

At least that's one saving grace.

Thing is AMD buyers are most in to budged and price/perf side of things. I'm not upgrading motherboard cause ill wait off till Zen 4 and ddr5 is out with next upgrade. Not like Most of time I play World of Warcraft and memory testing games :D

For my mates Build ill see how prices look and will buy cheapest x570 board. Anything will run 3600 hehe.

Remember when I said with the prices going up and up. Keeping old PC and buying PS5 looks like better option month after month??

@Martini1991 well You hope so but as someone mentioned this could have been reason no one wanted top say anythign about prices of motherboards hehe.

Few days ago MS said it will be in 500-600 dollars range and that they scrapped cheaper version.
Remember Sony and MS just need 2 brake even on consoles as Software is where they get money from.

didnt know ms was making the ps5 :D

seriously though sony's ceo has stated the ps5 will be a niche product, so get set for niche pricing through the nose no doubt.
