*** The 2010 Gym Rats Thread ***

If it's around the pit then no it won't be the rc. Rc is more around the top and sides and it a bugger to get rid of once you do injure it.

Some swear by mp cissus for injuries, im giving it a go but for now i have some d-aspartic acid on the way

Still have to get my head around eating so much. I was getting headaches i think all this heavy lifting, i wasn't giving my body enough carbs, so it was trying to gain but lean out as well, now im eating more im feeling much better for it.

Least it means i don't have to weigh food as much, i can just throw it down and know by feel if im doing things right. Chest is doing lovely, still crap at bench press, two days later and i still have doms from just 40kg would you believe it.

As for l glutamine, i wouldn't worry about it, a quality protein is loaded with it.

I'm wondering if mine is this or not....Didn't feel any pressure or tearing when working out on Friday? But I did go shooting on Sunday, which hurt a little bit but that was around the pit area, so don't think it was that.

Bah, oh well, week off will do me good

You're going to have Doms, regardless of the weight =/ Everyones different.

No no, I have a bruise by my pit, but thats from shooting :p

The actualy pain feels like its around my collar bone, but then it also feels like its 'below' my trap.....???? I dunno...I'll just take it easy for a bit

Yeah i know, just bugs me being good at everything else, just horribly bad at the bench press. Yet i have a big chest go figure.

Hmm yeah best rest up, or at least take it easy for a bit. I find warming up very important so the first set i always go easy.

It's no biggy, you might have a big chest because you've trained properly, you don't need a big weight to get gains at the end of the day.

If you want to up the bench press in general, do it by 1.25kg on each side so 3kg all together, and do less reps than you normallt would, that way you should build up the strength aspect, get to a weight you feel 'comfortable' with but not so heavy you are really struggling and keep at it for a while...That's what i'd do.

I will take it easy, i'll just take this week off...really wanted to do DL's today as well :(...I always warm up my rotator cuff and shoulders, regardless of the exercise, sucks :(

Nevermind!

Glutamine is in the shake i'm taking, god knows what kinda difference it makes!

Lifts went up again last night (chest)

both dumbells

flat press > 3x8, 84kgs, 84kgs, 88kgs
incline press > 3x8x84kgs
dips 3x8xBW+20kgs inbetween legs

good times :D

Lol yeah, i have back and bi's today which will be nice, i'll probably deadlift as well.

One thing i love about today's set is working the forearms, hammer curls/farmers grips all sorts. They are quite thin however very little fat so the muscle im packing on looks damned fantastic in the mirror so i work this region very hard as you can imagine :D

Glutamine just helps with recovery, with a good diet in place it's a muchness, if it works then good for you i quite like hmb in my night time shake, tastes rank and people say it's so-so but i feel a bit better in the morning for taking it, my muscles seems to be fussing for protein far less.

L Glutamine = no more DOMS? Srs, wtf?

Took it for a fair while.

It deffinatley helped minimise my DOMS and made what DOMS I did get much more bearable and last no where near as long.

I was taking it on an empty stomach 15 minutes before breakfast, dinner and bed. Also has associations with boosting GH levels if I recall. Thread over on MP about it in regard to treating injuries I think.

The empty stomach part is vital as amino's compete for absorbtion and L-glutamine looses. So take it on an empty stomach for maxmimal effect.

When it's £15 a kilo you can't really complain. I also 'mega-dosed' it a few times at around 10-15 grams for a while as I was confused as to what I should actually be doing with it. Didn't notice any difference between a 5 and 15 gram dose. Supposed to give you the trots in large quanities.

Can anyone reccomend some cheap protein, which is good quality?

I usually get it from holland and barret (but only when it's 50% off), and unfortunately it's full price atm :( (£25) for 900g~ pot

My protein 'Tripple Points' day today. posted this in the Supplements thread.

Code for 5% off in my sig for first time buyers.

'Use MP90145 for 5% off your first order at MyProtein '.

do they do the smaller tubs? 900g ones or w/e, takes me weeks to use up and money is a little tight (damn £134 car tax, for one!)
