*** The 2010 Gym Rats Thread ***

Budget diet plan, fairly easy lots of oats/potatoes wholewheat bread/bagels etc cheap cuts of meat/chicken some evoo for your fats, and a good protein from a bulk supplier like my protein, bulk powders or bulk supplements direct

Nutrisport 90+ is a popular choice for an all rounder, some folk don't like the taste whilst others love it, anyway it's cheap

in addition to the above

brown pasta (add your choice of meat for protein, e.g. tuna, chicken or mince) and brown rice as a side dish to a portion of meat and veg, try and stay away from cheap cuts of red meat of which the fat cannot be easily cut off, but in moderation is fine.

nuts and fruit for snacking on, cashews can be expensive, but i love them, so i dont care. peanut butter can be bought for cheap and goes well with bread, pancakes, bagels, shakes, etc.

extra vitamins can be obtained from fruit juice's or smoothies. (people will say fruit juice is high in sugar, but its natural sugar, not like the stuff you find in coke)

honey is a good replacement for sugar in things like tea/coffee, porridge, etc. but dont go crazy with the stuff, just use a small amount.

I don't think i'll be doing much this week...Seem to have hurt my shoulder somehow, preimarily around my collar bone =/

Not sure if i did it on bench press because i was pushing out a lot of grinds towards the end...or if it was shoulder day and its only just caught up?

Anyway, going shooting yesterday didn't help it much :p
 
As of today, no more drinking, my friends freshers is over, and it's 100% focus on my diet/routine/uber amounts of sleep and gaining mass until Xmas (am visiting my love in Canada from the 21st december), it's all systems GOGOGO!!

Starting weight + height ~ 180 @ 5"11
Target weight ~ 200 ideally, but obviouslly it'll never all be lean!

Well I have just had two weeks off from the gym. Have been working too many hours lately and the work load took it out of me. Ate too much lovely food in the evenings and drank more than I have in a while.
But today marked the change back to gym visits 4-5 times a week and no booze.
Spent a good 2 hours at the gym today blitzed my arms. Tomorrow is the return of the squats!

2 hours to work ur arms lol?
when i train arms takes me like half an hour, 40 mins tops lol.
 
I think I've killed my legs, I took a week break to let my elbow heal and went back thinking I can do the same amount of weight I did before on my legs.

I've had non-stop DOMs for the past 2 days all the way from my glutes to my knees, I can't even walk properly, let alone get up stairs and sit on the toilet. :( Lol

Jokes aside you'd probaly have a much more productive workout spending a quarter of that time on a high intensity arm workout.

Doesn't take much to ruin my arms, mine are fried after 2-3 exercises. If it's taking you 2 hours to feel the effects then you're not quite doing something right!

Especially when returning to the gym after a short period off I'd be extra careful not to go OTT!

I've had some pritty long leg sessions however these were very high volume and with a training partner so rest periods were significantly increased.
 
not a happy guy today like! been back to endo and he said my testosterone results are back and its sitting at 7.1, god dammit thats worse then last time, said i should be at least at 25-30 for my age.... thats been 6 months+ now with low testosterone (that I know of) and it's just getting worse getting fed up now... Weird thing is im holding a large size (16stone+) and very very strong. Doesn't make much sense.

Why is your test so low? Some sort of condition?? And is there nothing they can provide, or will you resort to all these 'natural' test boosters etc?

natural test boosters are a waste of time you might as well just eat crap.
And test is so low i dont know why? it's been like it for like 6+ months, probly because of the excessive amounts of prednisolone I was put on for my bowel... they prob will look at trt but you might say aw yeah you'll get free pharma gear, but that means you stuck on that for life and thats not something I want to do....

Weird thing is tho even tho sex drive is quite shoddy and I feel pretty awful all the time, lethargic, no energy etc I've still retained my size if not got bigger so unless im genetically gifted to build on extremely low test? and im very strong at the moment and still keeping the strength...

TRT maybe isn't such a bad move in your current state.

Well not holding so much water as im keeping the diet clean, still got my abs and pretty damn lean as it is, I've bloated up before last year to 17.5 stone so I know what it feels like to hold water. And im not really holding much. And yeah the drug sucks but not got to much of a choice atm.

TRT isn't my cup of tea, im 20. Theres other options I can do to sort it, but will see what they say first I guess. Fair play not being allowed to discuss it, not asking for health advice was just ranting .
