Bye Bye BMW...

Pics would be great - the XF with the bodykit is a fantastic looking car.

What a great time to be buying a car like this - I don't think anyone in this class makes a bad car right now :)

At the risk of dragging the thread back on topic, OP - nice write up of your buying experience, I always like a good, in-depth thread on something interesting.

How did you find the diesel engine in the Audi compared with the Jag? I've only had experience of the 2.0TDI which every man and their dog seems to have, and i've got to say, it sounds like a van engine! The only diesel engines i've heard that don't sound too bad are the Merc and BMW's ones.

Brain8bit and TW FOX if you think i am going to let you use this chaps thread or this very forum to have your own mini-argument you are deeply mistaken.

Make one more thread in this topic thats not to do with this guys new Jag and is about you guys arguing with each other, then you will be suspended.

Neither of you make another post in this thread, consider this a warning, next one will be your lack of ability to post on these forums.

Way beyond the joke now!

P.S. Thread cleaned, now keep things on topic!

Anyone else think it would be weird driving a car with no gear stick, manual or auto? Interior does look great though, Jag have made a huge improvement in their latest cars.

Nope, removal of the gearstick is a logical and totally brilliant step. With most of todays good Auto boxes being electronically controlled it simply isn't required. I think Jag have done better than BMW here - the BMW autobox is electronic as well and there is no physical mechanical connection between the joystick and the box - so why is it there?

I love the way they've simply done away with it. I also love the way the MMI controller rises up out of the dash.

Not sure, makes sense for an auto though really, it is largely pointless when you think about it. :)

Same with paddle shift manual/tiptronic/whatever, why have the stick when you've got the shifters behind the wheel. :)

Have driven an auto in the US with the selector on a stalk and that didn't feel right. Think the twirly knob thing is cool though:)

Thats because they use those great big stupid handles on US cars, they should have gone with a slim wand, like an indicator stalk like the old Rolls's had.

Very much looking forward to the pics and personally I like the dark dark and darker colour combos. I've never really grown out of my everything should be black teenage phase, so I'd be more than happy in a black car with black interior, with me, wearing black jeans, t-shirt etc.

Good motor the Q5, went in a friends 2 weeks back for a short drive and was impressed, though at over 40k for a 2l TDi i think overpriced, but nice to be in and comfy too.

Wow I step away from the thread for a few hours and all hell breaks loose...

Sorry for the delay in getting pictures up but I had to be in south London at stupid o'clock. Now on my way back home got a couple of things to sort but will take and post some pics later.

My previous boss had had an XFR and it was tasty, the one before that had an XKR and that was amazing too.

Do Want.
