If he came at a certain level, trained at Arsenal for 2 years and started playing a completely different player, maybe, he joined, he was excellent, he started within months, became first team very quickly and looked brilliant from the day we signed him. He was NOT a product of the Arsenal youth system in any way at all, if we signed him at 24, and he played almost immediately and was 32 now we wouldn't claim he learnt his trade or became great at Arsenal.

So Arsenal have had no influence on Fab what so ever? I have heard some rubbish from you lately but that is the best that has come out for a while. At 16 Fab had already learnt all he could in his trade and none of the Arsenal staff or players made him into a better player

So who was it raised the point that Modric would bail as soon as Spurs didnt qualify for the CL?

Anybody?

;)

I thought he would stay to be honest. I remember him saying how grateful he was to be earning such a high amount of money playing football. Something to do with his poor upbringing or something.

But yeah maybe the taste for CL football has shown him what he is missing.

Or his agent has shown him the money he has been missing old on :p

barcelona made him, arsenal turned him into the finished article.

bit like barcelona made the mona lisa, then arsenal framed it.

most of the work was done at barca's end, but he needed to be fine tuned, given a chance and experience, barcelona couldn't afford to take such a risk and put him in the first team, so they let arsenal do it for them. it would have been better if they loaned him out like most clubs over here do, but arsenal basically stole him before he was of age to sign a contract with barca.

as much as arsenal fans think barca are being derogatory with their offers, you have to see how you got him in the first place. if somebody stole something from me, i wouldnt pay through my nose to get it back.

As discussed before if Barca wanted him to stay he would have stayed. It is ignorant to think that Barca could not convince a homegrown lad who supports the club from birth to stay at the club.

If they thought that highly of him and thought that he would make it into the Barca team they would have been able to make him stay. Messi was also free to go and play for another team. He didn't leave did he? No because Barca wanted him to stay.

So no, Barca aren't owed anything. You could probably say the very same about every team in the world where they stole players. Who did Barca 'steal' Fab from?

Barca weren't Fabs first football team. He started off at CE Mataró. So by your reasoning they should actually be the ones that get him back at a reduced fee.

.

Not even close

How many promising kids are mentioned every year - who look excellent for their age but amount to absolutely nothing when they grow up.

Barca did very little from an ability point of view - its all down to natural talent and the guidance of Wenger and those behind the scenes at Arsenal

He would be going for a lot more if his desire to go back to Barca wasnt so strong

Bitter much? You sound like K1LL last week :p

Oi! Talking about me while I'm still here is not cool man! Not cool at all!

:p

And I wouldn't really pay much attention to what Psycho Sonny says, the majority of his posts across the entire forum are usually spouting opinion as fact with nothing to back anything up and then a quick retreat when things aren't going his way. As outlined when they were talking about finances earlier, the slightest hint that someone knows more about something than him and he runs away with his tail between his legs. ;)
