F1 2012 - Teams and Drivers - Who goes where?!

no but hes already had two f1 drives which is more than enough to expose him as a no talent driver treading water on sponsor money and a name

Last years HRT which spent most of the time falling to pieces every weekend and a handful of races at the end of this year when Renault have abandoned a flawed concept, yet he still showed some promise recently.

I'm not saying he should have Grosjean's seat, he deserves his 2nd chance. I just think there are some other drivers on the grid that imo have less talent.

Im a huge f1 fan, but jeez has it gone to pot over the past 2 years.

Red bull domination, by no mistake or without hardwork but how the teams have no answer for them gets me, apart from a glimps here or their, when we do get to a track where red bull should be weak they dominate.

Driver changes, the sport is so money driven who can bring what money to the team while some good drivers do not get the respect they should cause either they aint on the track or they are for a lessa team.

I'm with you guys, Senna who I thought drove some good races and while to begin with @ team lotus struggled, has done quite a reasonable job considering the cars capabilitys.

And that is what strikes me as crazy, drivers bringing all the money in the world for a drive, for a team that dosnt produce a good car, and the driver can only drive that car to the maximum no more, if its capable of a 1.20 minute lap he would probably do it in a 1.20.3. Yet when it comes to the end of the season blame the driver and get him gone. despite the money bought to the team. its balls.

its not just that the rear end teams like HRT and virgin should be booted they are a JOKE! atleast back in the day minardi and arrows were proper teams and not a JOKE!

Give over, arknor. A joke would be Andrea Moda. Or Life F1. Or Coloni, EuroBrun, the Mastercar Lola debacle, Forti....

A bit before my time, can you explain? Or will read Wikipedia tomorrow :)

http://www.f1rejects.com/teams/index.html

Go here, and read. When the three bottom teams we have now exit F1 with less than six points to their name, arknor can call them a joke. Until then....not even close.

***edit***

So go on then arknor, what's more of a joke? Knocking around at the back of the grid, still in the same universe as the rest of the field but not challenging them....or rocking up with an unsafe, horribly unreliable, laughably slow, hopeless pile of crap?

The 3 new teams got a raw deal. They joined F1 under the promise of a budget cap that never materialized, and then had all their in season testing taken away from them. They are all 12 months behind where they would have planned to be, and where they likely would have been had there been 1 or 2 in season tests.

Next year is crunch time though. They need to be knocking on the midfield or fans, or at the very least, sponsors, will start turning their back on them.

Oh, and lol, arknor.

That site is great, thanks. How did some of these teams afford to run cars who never even per-qualified for several seasons

Different times, different sponsorship climate, in some cases just dumb luck. You had teams come in like Jordan in '91, who built a tidy little car and didn't try anything too drastic, and they punched well above their weight. Then you had teams like Andrea Moda who joined a year later (with a car that at least had some pedigree, being the design that BMW commissioned for their aborted entry) and were just a complete farce from ignominious start to inglorious finish. The difference between the two? Management. Much as I dislike Eddie Jordan, he at least knew what he was doing and was enough of a professional to get the job done. Andrea Sassetti was just an incompetent crook!

But according to arknor, it's Team Lotus/Caterham, HRT and Marussia who are a joke, despite at least being in the same universe as everyone else (as in, able to qualify for the races and finish most of the time). And me, apparently. Hey ho. Luckily for him I won't be in the race weekend threads much next season since I won't be watching live (I'll be damned if I get Sky just to watch a bunch of F1 races, it's not that good a show!).
