Well I am ok with football and I think he's a good player but I'm not sure how much he'd improve us, I don't think it'd be as 'massively' as you suggest though. It's moot anyway as we don't have the luxury of affording a player like that at the moment, hopefully soon though.

Also something I've learned from experience recently is not to force square pegs into round holes, telling Suarez to pass to RvP every time he gets the ball would take a lot away from what makes him good, but Walcott and Gervinho are happy to do it thankfully.

Well the strikers we're apparently looking at are pretty good, that's why I think we'll be ok. We bid for Jovetic in the summer who is brilliant, and we're looking at Podolski, who is also brilliant. Both would benefit from the good service we're producing.

Can you imagine him upfront with Rooney?

I wouldn't mind a bit of that.

Not if he is stupid enough to use as potentially insulting word as he claims (fine it may mean nothing in Uruguian (sp?), but its also blatantly obvious to be easily misinterpreted. IE as well as being against racism he has to be seen / heard to be against it as well - which is significantly different)

Undeniably great talent though

Whilst Suarez would undoubtedly improve Arsenal, the type of player they STILL need most is a Lucas, not any more attack minded Central Midfielders or Wingers. Hell, if Lucas had been playing for Arsenal the past 2 season they would have strolled the league.

That's fine, you're entitled to your opinion, I disagree and I'd imagine most others would do too. I wouldn't have even bothered replying had it not been for the condescending bit at the end of your first post.

One last point though, you claim you're not overly reliant on RvP yet keep stating that your team is set-up/Gervinho & Walcott's job is simply to provide for RvP. Slight contradiction?

edit: I should have said 2 last things. You're taking the mick with the Jovetic stuff after the debate we've just had, aren't you? Why would you sign Jovetic? His best position is just off a main striker, a bit like a certain Uruguayan (only not as good), and you play 4-3-3 :o

We're actually really balanced in midfield this season. The problem over the last few seasons has been Song and his cavalier runs forward at questionnable times. This season though Arteta fills in for him instantly whenever he roams forwards, as he appears to be a smart and responsible player, with experience, which is really what we've been missing. Somebody who knows where to be in midfield at all times. That and the fact that Ramsey covers absolutely loads of ground so we hardly ever look stretched any more.

Yeah, Walcott and Gervinho are creating that many good chances that we don't need somebody of RvP's quality to finish off most of their chances. RvP has had lots of tap ins this season which even Chamakh could put away. I also think that if RvP got injured Walcott and Gervinho would step up (and stop passing as much!) and get more goals so we'd see it through. The media are under estimating how good our play has been before it gets to RvP imo, but RvP has been in that good form it's understandable. He does tend to steal the spot light, but the way they talk about us, it's like we're randomly kicking the ball about until it gets to RvP who scores and magically saves us. We're solid for the first time in a while and I think we'd be able to get 1 - 0 wins and not lose stupid points like we have in years gone by. Our play may suffer a little (naturally) but I don't think we'd slide down the table or anything

AVB said he doesn't want to sell him but i am sure Abramovich will want to cut his losses.

Chamakh being able to score tap-ins (and that's if we believe that chances are being put on a plate for RvP) & Walcott/Gervinho stepping up when RvP doesn't score? That's very assuming of you jakeke.

And as per my edit in my last post? You're ****ing around with the Jovetic link after what you've said regarding Suarez, surely?

Non of this is really transfer talk is it?

Was about to say the same thing really...ermm take this rubbish about Suarez and Arsenal elsewhere guys...im pretty sure this thread is about transfer rumours and signings and not about how one player would or wouldnt improve a teams side etc etc.

It makes a change, the summer thread was 90% United talk :p

Suarez would improve any side in the Premier League (except maybe Man City, but they could probably use him). Can you imagine him upfront with Rooney?

I wouldn't mind a bit of that.

I think of all the teams mentioned City would be the most natural fit for him. Whilst they're obviously not doing too bad interchanging between Balotelli and Dzeko a front 3 of Silva---Suarez---Aguero would be frightening. Not much height mind but they'd still have the two bigger boys on the bench

If Suarez joined City i would stop supporting them i think, only him and Ronaldo are the two players that i truly hate.

Dzeko and Balotelli are far and away better players than him.

Balotelli? Maybe
Dzeko? Not for me, he's clearly a very good goal scorer which is obviously a massive positive but whenever I see him he never really does that much that impresses me. In fact the only thing he's done that has surprised me was his contribution for the goal against Arsenal the other week (IIRC he made a similar run against Liverpool a few days earlier as well) he needs to do more like that

Well thats the thing about Dzeko he needs a run of games to get form, Balotelli and Aguero can change a game from the bench. Dzeko is unlikely to well apart from the derby :p

When he gets a run of games he can be devastating eg Spurs and then he got dropped the game after and then when he came back in he was awful.

I think he will play on Sunday however....

Macheda due for January exit according to agent...

I dont think sneijder will come in January, not seeing us get hoofed out of the CL and the result against city.

Fletcher was only ever a bit part player but had become important from a defensive position, now he is indefinjitely out we need a replacement. None of Carrick, Anderson, Cleverly etc do that defensive mopping up well enough to be considered good enough for us in that position i dont think.
