That would be awesome, but just the amount of detail if some of the leaks makes me think its true. I would like some big surprise in the OS side too as iOS6 was somewhat of a let down.

What was you expecting?

I know iOS 6 is a major version release but if they released everything at once then we would have more releases like iOS 6. I think we're lucky we haven't had more. Maybe if they had banded the release as iOS 5.5 people wouldn't have been so disappointed?

Trying to think what IOS5 offered, iMessage (I found it unreliable so disabled it), notification centre is good. Think that was pretty much it.

IOS6 has: Maps - once or twice a year will I use maps for directions.
And that's it.. some Siri changes but no uses it and some other changes. Actually the incoming call thing will come in useful so you can reply with a message instead of answering.

Simple things we still can't do hence why I still jailbreak. Quick reply, more apps in folders... etc etc...

iMessage is horrible :confused:

. Regardless of device (iPhone, new iPad, Macbook Pro) and regardless of connection type, messages would be delayed or never turn up at all. It can neither be relied on as a replacement for SMS, nor as a better chat service than any that were already available.

Ive never had one failed message through iMessage.

Works fine all the time... which is more than can be said for the signal

It worked for about half of my iOS contracts, the other half I had messages just never go through - hence I disabled. If it worked as well as whatsapp I would keep it enabled.

It's hard to say that all have turned up as you really don't know. I've sent people messages who and they never got them but I only found out by chance in a conversation.

As that link above suggests, these new 'features' are mainly to benefit of Apple. They seem set on bullying their way in to the internet search market.

Just got a 4s and the new ipad is great too no need for a galaxy note type device. Although I'm sure Griffon et al are all hoping for a change in size.

Going to recycle my iPhone 4 and get a decent Windows phone that does the job. If the iPhone 5 is worth it then I may. I just don't find a use for what I need any more. I don't play many games on it nor use any useful apps. Facebook and Twitter, texting, calls and web browsing yeah.

I wasn't suggesting that iMessage fails all the time, my point was that you might have had a message that didn't arrive and you wouldn't actually know as you don't get delivery reports.

I'm sure there are thousands of people who have not had a single issue but it's clear there is enough people out there complaining to know there is a serious problem.

Its easy actual, just look at the competition, their all advancing at such a fast pace really trying to push the UI and look and feel of the OS, improving on preformance, adding in big features with each iterations. I just feel that Apple is being really lazy and just content with how things are.

I've thought this. If they build a few different prototypes, the one we have seen might not be the one that they release.

the chances are I'll just go with the Samsung this time (December). Partly because I don't think the 5 will be much different to my 4s but mainly because of the new wave of unlimited minute contracts for £36/month. I've been paying a good few £ more than that for the past few years to have 1200 minutes, so it was easy to take the iphone for 'free'. This time, it's likely to be a choice of a free Samsung Galaxy ## or pay £100-150 for the iphone 5. Oh and also because if the base model comes in at 16gb again, I'd want the 32gb so that will be another £60-70 on top. 16gb was fine for the 3GS (for me) but on the 4s, 16gb and 1080p video just don't mix. The mount of 200-300mb video clips I manage to accumulate means it's just not enough.

But I won't know untill I've seen it
