*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Thanks guys, yea im thinking about my chest gains, im managing to loose all kinds of fat with some serious cardio tho, somehow i haven't lost to much muscle, training in calorie deficit. Need to find out whats going on, because i thought id loose a lot more strength

You should always try and do an antagonist movement IMO especially with shoulders. However, I've always been of the view you should try and do more pulling movements than pushing.

I think I do more push than pulling, as well most compound moves are pushing aren't they?

I work my workouts round

Bench
Squat
Deads
OHP

All are push exercises, unless I'm wrong?

I love that guys everything :(...Especially his deadlift

It's more relating to one exercise the push/pull debate. ie you do OHP for shoulders, you need to do something for shoulders as a pulling movement, so face pulls for instance.

Fair one, but how does that work in regards to weight?

As I certainly do more weight overall on OHP then I do for pulling exercises.

Is this a bad thing? Or something I really don't need to be concerned about?

I don't even do pulling exercises for chest or legs, I don't think. (If even possible)

It is, I get all tingly in my special place :D.

Lovely bloke as well. He has a ton of videos on youtube to satisfy my needs :p.

Ok that was quite gay, but his training videos are awesome, definitely worth a watch.

No, 'cause you don't do a pulling movement for your chest or a pushing movement for your back to balance it out  You should do more pulling than pushing because your back is a massive set of muscles that needs a lot of volume. Your chest and shoulders are much smaller.

Deadlifts are a pulling exercise.

Your typical push compound are:
Bench
OHP
Squats

Your typical pulling compounds are:
Deadlifts
Pull Ups
Rows

A post like this normally requires a /nohomo at the end of it :p

How did I never think about push/pull from a leg perspective... I guess it's because I don't really count them in a push/pull balance. Every day is Leg day at the moment on SL anyway...

Then you're doing a lot of neglecting. Start incorporating the following:
Straight Legged Deadlifts (SLDL) (hamstring / legs)
Pull Ups (or Chin Ups if you're a weakling) (lats / back)
Deadlifts (all over, back)
Bent Over Rows (lats / back)
Lat Pull Down (Lats / back)
Hamstring Curls (hamstring / legs)

He's only like 5'7" :p

He wore super man sock with a cape and ballerina shoes for deadlift at Nationals in September, and just ran around the room screaming to get himself psyched up :D.

What a beast, I was going to say he's only manlet status in height as well. Gives us all hope :)

Lol superman socks, ballerina shoes, cape, strong :D

Nope. Bulk cook sweet potato and chicken, but not rice.

The other day I didn't heat my sweet potato all the way through until I poured gravy on it. It was cold :( too late :(
