NVIDIA GTX 970 OWNERS THREAD

I posted this in the MoBo thread, but it hasn't had any activity for months so I thought I'd post in here too...

My MoBo is Gigabyte Z87-OC. I just ordered my 2nd Gigabyte 970 G1 Gaming and have just realised how long the cards are and am wondering.... will the 2nd card clash with the lower MoBo heatsink? It will be in the 3rd PCI slot from the top.

Does anyone have a SLI setup in this MoBo where the 2nd card clears that heatsink?

I'm not at home so I can't check, and the card will arrive before me!

I have time to cancel the order if need be...

** Edit **

Order shipped so I'll find out soon enough...

Any of you guys benched on valley hd extreme recently? I'm getting 2680 points but aiming to break 2700. I'm on +172 core (1513mhz boost) 7600mhz mem, no volts, power limit 125.

Seen a guy getting 2900+ points on his 970!

970 turned up yesterday.
Dead happy with it. Get an average of 86 fps on max settings on BF4 64 player server, with the minimum not dipping below 70. Chuffed :)

Inno3D card is RMA with OcUK now.

I now have one x MSI 970. Able to bench nicely +200, +450 on 3DMark but it flickers, so no good for games. It's the RAM that hold is back, have to pare back to +175 +350. Still decent though.

It's MUCH better noise and temp wise than the Inno3D one as well. Shame the blocks cost a whole bunch more!

Anyone have a galax ex oc bios that fixes sli voltage bug, looking like nvidia not in a rush to fix that.

If you can get it to go over 1.121v even better :)

Thinking of dumping my 970's and going back to AMD.

****ed off with DSR breaking SLI in pretty much every game I play.

And DSR being the big reason why I moved back to Nvidia.

Gigabyte G1 Gaming delivered and installed. Awesome card so far and 0 coil whine :)

Was a little wary of going back to Nvidia but I'm glad I did now. For information, my last Nvidia card was a geforce 4 ti4200. So, quite a few years ago ;)

What card did you move from?

If you do sell up, make sure you put the Cards in MM. I'm thinking about going the SLi route.

Just got my Galax Infinity and ran a few tests. Do they look ok for stock? (i5 @4.4)

Been having a quick play with my 970 SLI

This is still with a 4770k running on stock clocks, not sure how much more i'm going to try and overclock them yet.

Overall im pleased with my cards, running on a ROG Swift im getting excellent gameplay in Farcry 4 and Crysis 3 maintaining 60-70 AFPS on Ultra with 2XMSAA

I'm not sure, Setter. If the cards perform OK on air I might save myself the £250 for blocks and back plates. I'm tinkering with the idea of taking out my 240 rad on top and putting 2*AF120's there instead, just to improve the air flow even more. It'll leave me with a 360 rad on the front for my CPU only, which is obviously plenty.

If you can maintain temps like that over a period of gaming, i can certainly understand where your coming from. £250.00 for wc parts is indeed a lot of cash. And the wf coolers are pretty quiet. AF fans are quite good, use them as top and rear exhaust fans myself.
