haven't really been following maxwell threads but i have been playing with 2 970s for a build im doing for a friend and one of them is a gigabyte G1 and it boosts to 1512ghz at 1.218v according to MSIs overlay is that considered good or average
Check out the bench threads on here and that will give you a decent idea of how close they are to 980s.at 1500+ does that match or beat a 980?
currently running SLI 780s could be tempted to keep these and buy my mate another pair of 970s
Got mine boosting to 1552 with no extra voltage applied
I am sure your card could do more quite easily!
I thought about moving from a pair of 780's to a pair of 970's. But it's not really a big enough jump in performance. And im not struggling with vram either. Also at £320.00 a pop for the ocuk reference cards, (best for sli) it would be too expensive.
Ah just brought a http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-259-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1010 now just waiting for it to turn up. Replacing my 670 SLI's with the possibility of adding another one in the near future
Nice purchase, hope you enjoy your new card. I looked at that one before buying the Gigabyte G1.
