Got mine boosting to 1552 with no extra voltage applied :)

I am sure your card could do more quite easily!

at 1500+ does that match or beat a 980?

currently running SLI 780s could be tempted to keep these and buy my mate another pair of 970s ;)

I thought about moving from a pair of 780's to a pair of 970's. But it's not really a big enough jump in performance. And im not struggling with vram either. Also at £320.00 a pop for the ocuk reference cards, (best for sli) it would be too expensive.

I wouldnt bother i think i might not either
when maxwell came out my 780s were under water and i felt underwhelmed by them
but since ive moved to a 5930k and dismanted my loop i thought let me just test drive my mates 970s and tbh its not much better

here is a 3d Mark for a single 970 @ 1512Mhz
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/3429870

and my 780 @ 1215Mhz
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1885294

SLI is the same not much diff

SLI 970s

SLI 780s @ 1215Mhz

i know 3d mark isnt the best to make a decision but games dont seem much better

i guess the temp and power savings are nice
i had no choice but to WC my 780s but these 970s can SLI no problem on air

I'm getting green flickering and crazy colours when I enable SLI :(
Looks like my bottom card could be knackered. Will test it on its own later.

Turns out it was the SLI bridge. I used a different one and it's fine now.

Just flashed a "gamestable" bios on my Palit, coilwhine suddenly turns up to the party.

I'm guessing this is a sign my PSU isn't upto it (only a 450w BeQuiet for now).

Bought the Strix 970 via work since I got it for a crazy price can't wait for Christmas to arrive so I can play with it then roll on January for GTA V :D
