An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

I'm picking up my copy this afternoon (I'm in the US) and I will report back on how it plays later tonight. Don't worry, there will be no spoilers I promise :)

Dons: I hope this is OK? Last time I tried talking about a game I got a couple of days earlier (due to my location) my post was deleted

Just tried to get to the official forum.

"The error returned was:

Sorry, the server is too busy to handle your request, please try again in a moment"

LOL what a surprise.

Aye, should be fine. If you have a digicam a pic of the box would stop people who don't realise where you are calling you a warez monkey though :)

03.20.06 - ONE DAY TO GO VIDEO, OBLIVION TES CS & WIKI
The final countdown video has been posted. Head to our downloads section where the gates await you. Also, check out our new Construction Set Wiki and download the Oblivion Construction Set for PC here.

True to their word, the contruction set is already available for download :) cool

I'm downloading it now (only 6.4 megs) but I doubt it'll even install without all the data files from the game DVD.

I've been doing even more research into this game and it sounds simply awesome....I can’t wait to give it a bash, and I understand people’s obsession with it ;)
Davey, I hope it lives up to your expectations. No one seems quite as hyped as you bud!

System will handle it fine :D

BFG 7800GT OC, 1 gig Corsair DDR 400, SD 3700 CPU (Native 19" TFT Res 1260 x 1024)

Finally got my Audigy 2 Sound Card working perfectly too (don't ask)

Countdown videos are all great. None of the latter ones beat the one week to go vid showing the HUGE draw distance........

I showed my gf some of the video's and she was highly impressed, especially with the forests. She's happy watching me play games as long as there's a good story (plus she absolutely loves Prince of Persia), so she'll probably sit and watch Oblivion while I play it :D

Meh, I need to find a gf that likes watching me play games instead of collaring me into painting her new house. Mine was happy when I got an old monitor for my spare PC so she could use it... Even got her addicted to CS:S! But then the graphics card died and that put an end to that. :(

just to make it aware. The combat system in Oblivion is very different to morrowind as it now is based on collision. If you swing your sword and it goes through the enemy, it will count as a hit. It is not based on your efficiency with the weapon and your efficiency will determine damage
