An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

just to make it aware. The combat system in Oblivion is very different to morrowind as it now is based on collision. If you swing your sword and it goes through the enemy, it will count as a hit. It is not based on your efficiency with the weapon and your efficiency will determine damage

One of the many reasons I'm looking forward to this very much, it was always an annoyance in Morrowind.

Must admit i've never been this hyped over a game before. I even actually had a dream about oblivion last night lol. I went to kill a deer and it chased me into the city and I had to get two guards to kill it for me?

I think I need to go outside for a bit.

Considering the last RPG I enjoyed playing was Icewind Dale 2, I am really really up for this game, and I have never played a first person based RPG before, I have not read much for it, but I just can not wait!

Gimmie now!

I blame this thread, gone the way the BF2 one did before release, if its a bad game, you can imagine the worlds reaction! :p

NO you need sigmend freud

I'll be getting the 360 special edition - probably nicer than running it on my X850XT PE and A64 3700+ even with 2 Gb RAM. The nice thing is the fact my plasma only goes up to 1280x720 so the 360 has that res sorted, and I don't have to install the game and then boot up my PC each time i want to play it.

Plus it has *** achievements!!1!!111!!1!!! :D

OK....got it :)

I went to the store and the shipment hadn't arrived yet, so I had to go wander around for a while. About an hour later I returned to the store.....only to find a line going from the tills all the way out the door  Every single person was there to collect Oblivion.....I would say 80% of them XBox 360 owners. There were a few people who had just turned up in the hope of getting one - the staff just laughed at them :D

So anyway....I better go and install it I suppose :p

Shame you won't get to experience of the mass of user created content which will come flowing in a while after release, adding countless hours of gameplay :p

According to IGN, running on a X1900XT, 2GB of ram and a 3.2ghz Intel, the PC version takes the edge over the Xbox 360 version because of its greater texture sharpness and smoother framerate. That's good for me, since my spec is even better than that :D

I do like the idea of staff laughing at people though :D

Staff in an electrical retailer chain did that to me when I went in and asked for a 360 on release day telling me to come back in february... I got one 3 days later.

I've just ordered a new 6800GS card to replace my 9800Pro, hopefully this will help make the game look a bit nicer :). Only problem now is that I won't actually be able to play the game until Saturday morning :(.

But think, it will be worth it in the long run, you're only sacrificing a day. I remember going from my mx440 to the fx5700 (yes I know they were rubbish) which allowed me to get the shiny water on morrowind, made it much nicer when just wandering around the map.
I think I'm going to have to join the filthy side and get an xbox 360 to play this on...

Sorry if this has been posted b4, but here is a link of a guy playing the game "live" , paste the link in your browser:
