1 Series - F20

How often do 'private' new car purchases ever make sense anyway? :p

Well you normally have a lot less choice in private purchases so that can influence the purchase but in this instance it's hard to work out what's what. Or are you on about people who don't share their purchases with 'Motors'?

Is the new 1 Series a better drive than the old one?

I mean people buying themselves a brand new car as opposed to corporate purchases or company cars etc.

I wonder if this will grow on people. Didn't everyone think the old shape 5 Series looked horrendous when that was unveiled?

So happy for this colour now :)

In my opinion it is simply the best colour BMW have ever done. I absolutely love it.

Really? That's the first time we've ever seen you comment about it :p

I'm not keen on how far that rear bumper sticks out. The front isn't too bad, it's a bit awkward looking but I could probably put up with it.

Why does the badge say 125d? 'Shopped?

The new petrol 116i and 118i engines are actually pretty good !!
They are both 1.6 litres but come with a turbo; so 136/170 bhp and 49/42 MPG.

But earlier you said:

It's an extra 40 bhp - I really don't need to get to the next stop sign/red light one second quicker :)

So why didn't you go for the 116i?

Not trying to be confrontational, just trying to work out why the 116i was not chosen, given that it meets all of your criteria.
