Exactly this.
Why not give the ability/options to dial up effects for people who have the hardware to do so?
Arguing????
Bud, you're the one posting saying how crap a game is and how you're having issues and blaming it because of vram when there is far more at play with your system than just vram... If you don't like that then there is no helping you.
Again...... I had the exact same issues with very similar hardware, guess what, it was the cpu.... hardware unboxed have gone over the nvidia driver overhead with older/weaker cpus especially with ray tracing....
What do you expect when trying to run a nextgen ray traced game with higher settings than what your hardware is capable of....
It's almost like me trying to run cyberpunk maxed out on a vega 56 and ryzen 2600, even at 1080p, I knew what the limitations were thus I dialled the settings back....
Fair, but then again, the points you made didn't have anything to do with the thread title either
So back on topic then:
What other games is a 3080 having issues with because of vram @1440/4k? So far we have:
- godfall - an outlier and even then, as per the youtube videos etc. posted before, a 3080 looks to be performing very well here
- hzd - debunked since the one person who did a comparison was using a 5700xt/vega iirc and on an older version of the game, which had issues rendering textures
- re village - as above, seems like there aren't any issues with performance and a 3080 actually performs better than a 6800xt (with ray tracing on)
Anything else?
