In the same way an Alienware QD-OLED is just a monitor.:p

Forspoken's PC system requirements are here - This game has huge RAM requirements

Today, Square Enix and Luminous Productions have revealed the PC system requirements of Forspoken, the first current-gen only title from the creators of Final Fantasy XV.

As expected, Forspoken's PC system requirements are high, with the game's Ultra requirements calling for 32GB of system memory, 150GB of SSD space, and a graphics card with 16GB of VRAM like Nvidia's RTX 4080.

On the low-end, Forspoken's PC system requirements are more moderate, but it is worth noting that these system specifications target 720p 30 FPS gameplay, This means that PC gamers will require a much higher-end system to achieve 1080p 60 FPS gameplay than the game's RX 5500 XT and GTX 1060 minimum GPUs.

Storage-wise, Forspoken requires 150GB of free space on your PC and SSD-based storage is recommended. For the game's Ultra specifications, NVMe storage is recommended, which makes sense given the fact that Forspoken is one of the first PC titles to utilise Microsoft's DirectStorage technology.

If the system requirements below say anything to us, it's that Forspoken is a game that will use a lot of system memory at High or Ultra settings. Not many games recommend 24GB of system memory, and even fewer call for 32GB of system memory for Ultra settings alongside 16GB of video memory. If you plan to play Forspoken at 4K, you will need a powerful gaming system.

Minimum

Resolution/Framerate: 720p 30 FPS
OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel i7-3770
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (8GB) or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB)

Recommended

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel i7-8700K
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12GB) or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 (8GB)
RAM: 24GB
Storage: 150GB SSD or more

Ultra

Resolution/Framerate: 4K 60 FPS
OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11

Lets see if the game is good when it comes out and why it needs 16GB of VRAM for 4K..

And their min VRAM is 6GB for 720p... yikes ..

Had to tease the guys, it's cold and having a crappy day so hope they enjoy the banter too. :D
Aye don't know anything about the game myself but will certainly make sure I get a free copy just in case.

whats with the geee teee ekx 4080?
Yes I saw that on the image too and thought just a typo and people so use to tying GTX instead of RTX now. We all know what they mean..

This is just proving the 4070ti is DOA for anyone looking at a 4K card for their 4K screen or TV to game on.

Nvidia ... now selling £800-1000+ cards now that can't even do 4K on new games and god knows what else soon coming out too that needs these amounts of VRAM..

If people don't wake up now they never will @Bencher .. Seems the 7900XT is looking good now.. with the extra VRAM.

So a 6800xt is now on par with a 4080?

But hey maybe at least that 3090 will finally shine and be worth the extra £750 :D Unless it has to drop settings due to lack of grunt ;)

VRAM min spec required yup... :p At least it will allow the 4k settings and they must know it is playable at that for the card to list it.

We have to wait and see what the deal is with this game when it comes it and even if it's worth playing. Sadly looking like VRAM limits are now being raised for 4K on some games now out of the box.

It's all part of Nvidia's and AMDs games mate the planned obsolescence at work.

it should be fine if they drop texture quality 1 notch, even the 7900xt will be realistically targeting 2k with RT on

all of it.. the thing is pc game dev has been democratized.. no longer do you need mathematicians (or computational science experts) to work out tech.. all you need is licenseable game engine like unity or unreal and then use it in a way its not intended to be used.. like you do with all enterprise applications and then you need to find people to buy the game before its released

It's not exactly clear cut tbf the recommended specs, the 4080 is a superior gpu in every way possible, would have been better listing a 3090 than a 4080 if it was based purely on vram.

If it is in need of more vram, it will be interesting to see if it is a legitimate vram issue i.e. frame latency not being smooth with some frame spikes/drops or if it will be badly optimised like fc 6 vram management where drops to single digit fps only to never return to normal fps ;) Or better yet, if it will run absolutely fine on my system

I believe this game is using direct storage too?

Also, not to mention if dlss/fsr will be needed to overcome lack of grunt....

Either way, we should all know by now "recommended specs" are never accurate.

it should be fine if they drop texture quality 1 notch, even the 7900xt will be realistically targeting 2k with RT on

Or just use dlss/fsr, which chances are most gpus will be needing upscaling tech. anyway, at least if you want to get full benefit of 140+ 4k screen.

Also just noticed a 3070 is only capable of 1440 30 fps????

According to this review, yes 12gb is enough for 4k even at the heaviest RT games. The 4070ti is faster than the XTX in the majority of games. The XT isn't even in the competition, it's 6 miles behind

We are talking about this game ONLY and its requirements for 4K :-
