I've got a P6T with bios 1408 and a P6TSE with bios 0908 and it works fine with both.
Ok cool....in negotiations for a 5670

On an hours test with OCCT and Prime, the hottest core got to 78c with the average being 74c. I'm using some rubbish TIM at the moment so I might be able to improve it.
I think that £69 deal is a good one as its a UK seller and it was 2-3 day delivery.
I have a 920 air cooled at 3.8 ghz with 6gb ram, in laymans terms what sort of improvement would I see putting one of these in?
Would I be able to hit 3.8 on air?
I mainly use Lightroom and Photoshop with some cad and a little gaming too
If you use Lightroom and Photoshop a lot its a nobrainer mate.
As for your overclock on air I'm not sure (depends how good your cooler is) but they do run much, much cooler than your current cpu that I do know, considering there is another 2 cores quite impressive I think!
I'm pretty sure you could get to 3.8-4 no problem to be honest if you air cooler is half decent.
I always thought that Xeon's weren't that good for gaming, perhaps times have changed.
This or a X99 setup. hmm.
Now got 2 5650s on order from different suppliers just in case one is a bad clocker.
Picked up a nice 1366 Asus ROG II Gene mATX too! Maybe a Parvum Xeon setup is on cards!
